Update! They raised my rent again, just a few months after my last increase. It's now $85/mo instead of $62, which is a pretty big jump for 1.5 years. So that means see you later, greedy extra space!
I got insurance money for the stolen items. It was an absolute pain in the ass. I had to find receipts, take pictures, and file a police report. What a headache!

So although everyone is nice there, I felt like I was bamboozled into renting a bigger space for more money. I reserved for a space with tee special first months free but when I got there, they showed me the space and there was this Giant round pillar (holding up the building) in the middle of the space. The customer service rep who handled my sign-up process was great (his name is Matthias) but he's the only friendly staff I've run into at this place. There's one woman in particular who's borderline rude (why work in customer service if you don't want to interact with customers?). The storage space is okay, but the length of the contract seems excessive for renting a simple storage unit. This place is bootsy as fuck. The only good thing about it is that when the crackheads who live inside of it fight, it's really entertaining to eavesdrop. During the year that I had storage there, my rates went up three times for no reason, and I eventually had to move my stuff out because I couldn't afford to have this space anymore due to all the increases. Don't go here!! Horrible hours( who closes at 5 on a weekday?), a really inconvenient location. Expensive rates with hidden fees and penalties, inept staff. Especially the Latina lady behind the counter. They don't have a service elevator, so when you actually have to move things in and out you fight with this elevator that closes the door on you every 30 seconds and makes a horrible screeching noise to let you know. Worst experience ever! Incompetent staff. It took longer to sign the contract then it did to move all of my stuff!! Don't go here. If I had time, I'd move my stuff out to another storage facility!
I'll start by saying that they really don't care about these reviews because some of these issues are ongoing despite seeing reviews about them dated from last year. I recently moved my stuff from the brand new (and better reviewed) ES storage out in what they call Hunters point but which is just a wee bit east of the Mission near the 101 freeway entrance. I went to their website and locked a 4 x 4 unit that, according to the website, it was a web special priced at $57 a month with the first month half-off. I got a confirmation email from Extra Storage stating that my only payment upon showing up at the office should be of $38. What is my surprise when I show up at the facility on Folsom Street, I'm being charged $58 and according to the manager named Ed Salazar those $20 extra where admin fees that were not listed on the website.
