They doubled the price within 2 months of signing up. I was assured that they will not change it but more than 10-15%, but clearly they don't care. I had to spend extra money to empty the storage and move it to Storelocal, who don't follow these bad practices. Also, their storage units are only ~6 feet tall, so not a lot of space inside. The single star above goes to Anne, who was really pleasant to talk with.

the facilities are pretty ramshackle here and an "elevator access" unit may actually require wheeling your stuff down several extremely narrow hallways before you get to the unit. the security seems a bit sketchy, as i definitely saw people tailgating into the elevators who didn't seem to have access. the worst part is the steep rate hikes - they raised mine by 50% just a few months after moving in.

Extra doubled our rate a few months after we arrived and then after our complaint, changed it to a 50% increase. That was not what we were promised. The local person said it was a corporate tactic. Local people are impersonal, but helpful if you can get a hold of them.

Before I've even moved anything into my unit they're trying to run some sort of game on me, saying I have to move into another unit, with a deadline after which they are free to charge me an extra month, I'm to sign A CONTRACT to this effect. One of the contracts upon signing up - which was BIZARRE, the amount of legalese and bs - was to sign off on being able to sue them. One supposes they expect to be sued. I stopped by Extra Storage to throw some boxes into my unit today a few minutes after 7PM. I pulled in and parked and no one was around, just a couple people that were leaving. I literally unloaded my entire car which took about 10-15 minutes and just as I was about to go upstairs, the lady, Jamaica, came out and was like "We're closed". Staff is nice, but buyer beware. None of the units are the size they list. Their "estimated" sizes that "may not be the actual" size as stated in their contract - you can be sure each dimension is at least a foot to 3 feet smaller. We got there to fill an 8x8 and found it 6x7 (and partly taken up by a pillar) so there would not be enough room for our king size bed frame that measures over 7 feet as we had planned for.
