Not even 4 months into my rental, I get a notice they are increasing my rate by over 23%. And I'm not alone in having this scam pulled (read the other reviews). They are most definitely pulling bait and switch tactics and blaming "market values", as though the market for a storage unit has changed that dramatically in 4 months. Another user stated their rate went up 87% after just 4-5 months. Hmmm, so the market goes up THAT much every month or two? After 6 months of renting a 4 x 5 closet storage unit at 91.58 per month, get a card in the mail saying that next month, my rent is going to be 171.16 per month. That's an 87% increase!!!! At that rate, I'll probably be paying a little over $250 a month after the new year. Looking.

Big shout out to the awesome team @Extra Space Storage!! These guys came in clutch when I was in a bind and needed to store the junk I can't seem to part with. My initial contact was with the store manager Jennifer who greeted me warmly and assessed my needs. The lady who works there is horrible to work with, besides her everyone else is amazing, but because of her experience 1 star couldn't do zero star. I can't remember her but she's fairly new and she shouldn't work there anymore.
If your looking for somewhere to keep your car, don't leave it here! Here are some reasons why... 1. Started using their facility in late November. The rate was $380, in January a letter was sent stating the price was going to go up to $403! 2. Found someone sleeping by my car, on 1 occasion. Notified the after hour office. 3. Ppl were leaving tools on the bed cover of my truck. Once again notified the office. 4. Last straw... someone stole ALL my stuff in the bed of my truck. This place is the worst. There are people sleeping in the hallway. Also in there cars as well. It doesn't feel safe. People always asking, can you let me in upstairs? There was also a stabbing there as well, where police was called and was in the newspaper. There was always people smoking marijuana. The staff apparently does not do anything about the safety there. Worst storage experience in Hawaii. Homeless people about the place. It appears some are living in the units. Several times I have witnessed sprinkler pipes leaking for weeks on my floor. Elevator by office is either down or acting up for months. All these issues and they raise the rent every 3 months. My wife is scared to go here anymore due to being panhandled on the property. Beware and go elsewhere!!!!

I moved to this storage cause looks nice and clean, been there for couple of years, till I star moving things around and some items are been biting by RATS , I move my things to storage to keep them save, and NOT to be destroyed by rats, I have a gentleman yesterday toking and has same problem. and storage managements don't do nothing about it, they don't care, and every 4, 5 months keep razing the rent, how is that, I will take picture and I will posted to show every boddy

My friend had her unit broken into here and her belongings stolen They told her there are only security cameras in the elevator. Why not have more so all units can be seen. My friend said they ripped open the metal siding to access her unit. What are they using, cardboard to protect people's belongings. Why didn't workers see or hear anything. I guess they don't do periodic walkthroughs or watch suspicious homeless people loitering around inside the facility. Awful security. I would do my business elsewhere.
