Unfortunately, my experience is yet another example of how the storage industry takes advantage of its customers. First, the amount and the rate at which the monthly rent changes are absurd. The storage landlords claim its based on the "market" value. Yet they offer limited promotions with an expiration. There is only one elevator in this huge facility. They need to add more. If you book haulers to move your items on the second floor, God helps you in a miraculously way. Good luck!

December 30, 2024 I received this injury due to this protruding foot-long piece of metal Sticking from the wall around a blind corner. I asked for a Band-Aid in the front office, and was scoffed at. "We don't give customers bandaids. Do you think we're a Pharmacy?" I had to go to the emergency room, Had to get a tetanus shot, Had to go on antibiotics, missed two weeks of work, and now six weeks later have a lifelong scar. Extra Space storage? My experience was fine until I received an unauthorized increased charge on my credit card and they insisted I'd been mailed a rate increase letter. I never received anything or I would have cancelled my space immediately as it felt a bit over priced at $239/month for my needs and it was certainly way overpriced at $339/month. I was shocked they'd think a customer would be okay with a surprise increase of $1200/yr, especially when there are tons of local storage spots with competitive pricing. My storage rent went up 50% after only a few months with no notice. It was a bait and switch because I was brought in on a good discount price. I checked my emails and there was NO NOTICE about a change in rental price. Jumping from $161 to $241 a month after 3 months is ridiculous!! I've never had a storage place raise the rent earlier than a year, and I have it on autopay to get a discount, so I didn't notice the first month. This is a really shady business practice. If you need storage, do not store your belongings here. My unit was broken into multiple times. The Management did nothing to solve this ongoing problem and said they were not responsible. I had to secure my own doors so they couldn't just be pulled open. Instead, they just cut the units locking hasp off with a hacksaw or grinder. The many cameras they say they have don't work. They have many homeless people living in the units but do nothing about it and tell you they're not there. They had water intrusion into my unit and... read more

THIS IS A COMPANYWIDE POLICY AND TACTIC SO IT AFFECTS ALL LOCATIONS, NOT JUST THE ONE I RENTED FROM. Do not rent from Extra Space Storage. 1. Hidden in their agreement is that they can (and do) raise your rent at any time. 2. After ONE MONTH at the advertised rate that I signed up for ($167/mo) they raised it by 50%!!! 3. Without notice!!! 4. Only when I called them on this did they agree to a PARTIAL refund, and would not guarantee future increases would not happen. For a second time, our lock was removed and all of our possessions at this place were rifled. They have cameras that ought to reveal the thieves who have gone through our personal papers and possessions, but either the cameras are placebos or they do nothing about it. If you want your personal belongings stolen, use this place.
