My biggest complaint is a drastic price increase 4 months in. I had my things in an Extra Space storage unit for 5 months and after my 5th billing cycle, I noticed that I was billed for $80 more than what I had signed up for. Since I had not received notice, I called customer service assuming there was a mistake and there was not. Apparently you can expect the price to increase every 4 months, which if it was by a more reasonable amount, fine I wouldn't complain, but my cost increased by almost 50%! I generally hate and am philosophically against everything having to do with storage. However, when my mom moved, I had to move my dads "collection" into storage until we could sell it. In all, we used Extra Space Storage for 18 months. Even with my negative feelings about storage, I had a wonderful experience with Extra Space, Karina, the manager, and the facility itself. Decent facility. Helpful, friendly staff. Two things to note about this particular location: 1. It is NOT temp controlled, meaning, no AC or ventilation. But the units indoors stay fairly cool on their own so you shouldn't have too much of an issue with storing temp sensitive items 2. There are no lights in the individual storage units. You need to bring your own, so be prepared for that if you have a large unit. I just started my lease with Extra Space so at this point I can only review the application process as well as meeting with their representative to get my lock, view my unit, and get my access code. So far, their service has been excellent. I spoke with Barbara on the phone on Thursday and she was helpful. I was able to review everything over the phone and was emailed the contracts to complete. Jocelyn was the absolute best. Answered every and any question I had and made everything so easy for me. Not sure if I could've done this without her. If she hasn't gotten a raise, she needs one ASAP. Definitely referring extra space storage to any friends and family that need storage in the LA area.

Joselyn is an amazing associate. Direct information, not wondering if with hundreds of add on options. If you want a great price, and great space without spending a lot of time with nonsense - Extra Storage on Olympic, Santa Monica is where you should go. Ask for Jocelyn - the best !
