We used this daycare regularly for a couple months and our two dogs came home sick multiple times, full of energy, and smelling like pee. They advertise perks like free daycare for leaving a yelp review so I might also take some of these positive reviews with a grain of salt.

made reservation...went in to see facility...nope, need a prearranged tour, why? seemed indifferent to my concern.. left our little dog, picked up 3 days later...she cried all the way home and now had Kennel cough...$197 for 3 days and $85 vet bill...won't be back

Business response:

We're sorry you are upset with your pet's recent stay at our facility. Please know our focus is on your satisfaction with our facility and giving your pet a wonderful experience when he/she is with us. As you know, one of the steps we require is all our dog guests must be up-to-date on all vaccines and annual physicals. However, even with this level of due diligence, we still have dogs that bring in contagious elements like infectious tracheobronchitis, also known as "kennel cough." We understand your frustration and, again,... read more

Like other reviewers say my dog came home sick after spending one night there (horrible cough) . And she smelled so bad like she slept in other dogs pee or something. That explains why they wouldn't show us her room or where the dogs play. Also usually my puppy doesn't wanna come home from play days bc she's super social dog and loves to play with other doggies but she could NOT wait to leave this plays and was super excited to see us. Another thing is we payed for a photo update and never got a picture of her. I texted that... read more

Business response:

Good afternoon, Olena. I'm sorry that your baby had a cough after staying with us. We take the health of the puppies in our care very seriously, and take exhaustive precautions to minimize the inherent risk of communicable illnesses. I would be happy to give you a tour of our facility in order to put your mind at ease regarding our cleanliness and sanition standards. I hope Annabelle is feeling better, and I'm sorry that we let you down.

I've had an ok and now a bad experience with Folsom Dog Resort unfortunately. Picked up my dog today from 2 nights of boarding, his hind legs were covered in dried poo. Unclear how long he'd been sitting in his own filth. Also, I asked repeatedly if my dog had been fed breakfast, they asserted he had but hadn't eaten it, which for this pug is pretty unlikely. I portion out food exactly for what he needed for the time away, and one portion was still in my bag, so clearly that was not true. Today was a disappointing experience... read more

Business response:

0 stars I tried this place in hopes of finding a decent boarding facility so I could go on vacation. We are very picky on where he stays so we rarely have time away. The only other time he was boarded was when I sent him to training with Elevated Canine Academy. Folsom Dog Resort wanted my Doberman evaluated first for minimum 5 hours and I should have picked up on the red flag of them not wanting to provide a tour of the facility! He stayed 6 hours and he was sick two days later with diarrhea and vomiting. He also had flees!... read more

Hi - I believe your feedback was intended for me - please note that my name is Cynthia, Not Marissa - getting the name correct would be a good first step. I understand that you require vaccinations for your animals , and I understand that you cannot do a health check on every dog that comes through your doors. But my Winnie is 14 years old and in spite of being vaccinated he was REALLY REALLY sick. The idea that they get a "milder" case if they've been vaccinated is actually not necessarily true. They can die. Hence my... read more

Business response:

Good afternoon, Cynthia. I'm sorry for calling you by the wrong name, and I hope you and Winnie are doing well.

Kennel First time using FDR and I'm Concerned after picking up my dog Sunday 4/3 and by wed 4/6 my dog was wheezing and not feeling well Come sat he was throwing up and shaking, took to vet and after xrays and blood tests he has pneumonia and fluid on his lungs. I'm not placing blame on the kennel at this point but wanted to make a public stmt to see if anyone else has this happen to their dog during this time period or after being here. This kennel did require our dog get bordatella and influenza vaccine but our vet doesn't... read more

Business response:

Good morning, Dava. We truly appreciate your feedback, and I'm so sorry about Duke getting sick, he's such an adorable boy. It is of the utmost importance to us that the puppies in our care have a safe and fun environment to play and stay in. Duke is the first reported case of pnuemonia this year however, we have had a few cases of Canine Cough (Not Canine Influenza-which is more severe). I also want you to know that I really appreciate you taking the time to communicate with me over the past few weeks, and I am so happy tha... read more

These people almost killed my dog. We had our boxer stay for a week and asked for weight checks every 3 days and to let us know if she's losing too much. They told me "even though we normally do it every week, we will make an exception" I really appreciated that answer until I realized it was a lie. We picked her up after a week and our 52 pound boxer was turned into a 40 pound boxer. Over 10 pounds of weight loss and didn't even consider calling us!! This is insane. What's the point of contact info or an emergency c... read more

"Incredibly disappointed" doesn't begin to cover our experience. We made a reservation several weeks ago for our two dogs so that we could go on a much needed vacation. Two days before we leave, we get a call from them telling us our booking is being cancelled. They didn't have the staff they said. Perhaps if they paid more, they would have the staff - we know they can afford it, as their rates are astronomical. So now, I wonder where else do they cut corners. Safety? Sanitation? After several calls to other local boarding... read more
