Started off bad. First I called and inquired about booking a full foil appointment with someone who was experienced and specifically with ethnic thick long hair. They recommended a couple different ladies, I settled on Amy. When I arrived they informed me I was with Camille. My parents have recently dropped their services at this Gene Juarez location because the customer service has gone downhill, and unfortunately I had to have a bad experience also... I have been a client for many years and had one of the worst experiences. I decided to use their nail service for the first time and wanted shellac. The scheduling team/ reception told me they needed to ask around to see who had availability and wanted to give me a call back. Not a problem, I was appreciative that they would do that. I am 9 months pregnant and made an appt for a prenatal massage a day in advance. Left work early to make my appointment from Kirkland. Show up early to find out they don't have me on the schedule. I even showed them the record of my call on my cell phone, and they say they can't do anything but re schedule me another day. Why would I believe they could get that right if they can't get the first one right? Epic customer service fail to do to anyone let alone a pregnant woman.
I will not be back again. Second time I've had a crappy haircut here that is uneven and/or not what I asked for. Had to go back for a second time to get the cut straightened out, thinned out like I had asked, and the girl who did the touch up said the layering was horrible and had to redo most of it. If the reception staff were knowledgeable I would rate this a 5. However, each of my experiences with receptionist team has been not the level of service I would expect from a salon of this caliber. I called to schedule a beach wave service, nothing else and ended up being a 9:45 call between repeated questions from receptionist and being placed on hold as she was not familiar with the service. My fiance had an appointment here on the 18th for a haircut. When I made the appointment for him I told the lady on the phone that I needed to see someone who was REALLY good with men's hair because we are getting married on the 23rd and we both wanted to make sure that he got a really good cut. I have been a client for many years. Mostly at the Tacoma location and mainly for waxing services. Due to recent move up north, I checked into South Center. Will be the last time. Sorry for the long rant but I have been a customer with Gene Juarez for about 10 years now, started in Seattle then moved to this location so I have a good idea how things work around here. I have tried almost all of their services and have lots of grey hair so I have to come in for a color quite frequently. I like the quality of their hair color as it doesn't dry my hair, I always add on a treatment for the extra strength and shine.
