The manager Alexis was not forthright with an error made on my appointment. This resulted in me never being seen and awkwardly pushed on to someone that did not have the certification I had requested. I would have preferred the respect of just owning the mistake but instead my afternoon was wasted. Needless to say I will not return.
I HAVE NEVER FELT SO JUDGED OR EXPERIENCED SUCH BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! First off I am the mother of two children and like to be in comfortable casual clothing when out in public because my kids get me dirty. Time & time over I have gone to this salon and I am fooling myself by thinking because this salon is on the high end I should get a great cut & color and I never do. Please don't waste your money. Last person that cut my hair was Larisa, horrible and color was AJ. AJ's color lasted 5 days and most of my grey was back. Waste of money!

Over the years I've had good and bad at Gene Juarez but my experience with Madison at Southcenter was unfortunately the worst ever. The back had a chip (or section) cut out as though she started to cut an invert style and the right side was longer by an inch (or more). A picture was taken afterwards for validation of the problem and I had to go somewhere else to have it corrected. GJ has seemed to be on the decline as far as quality goes. I came here to get my hair dye from light brown back to black which is my natural hair color. My stylist said that some of the black hair dye will wash off and it will continue for 4-5 weeks but my hair will still be black. Its been 2 months now since I dyed my hair and the hair dye color is still coming off and going back to the color before dying it back. From my phone call to set up an appointment to check out ... complete FAIL! On the phone setting up an appointment, minimum 5 minutes on hold. When I arrived at the salon, waited 10 minutes at the desk to check in by a very flustered receptionist. Jeanette, hair colorist was GREAT. However, after color, I waited 45 minutes for my hair cut. Check out ... another wait. 4:30 pm appointment, left at 8:30 pm. Unacceptable!

The lady that checked me in and walked me to a dressing room barely said two words to me. She didn't sound sincere nor did she smile at all. I sat in the waiting area until about 10-15 minutes passed my scheduled appointment time. No one at the desk kept track of that so I walked up and let them know. You know I heard nothing but good things about Gene Juarez Salon & Spa, but sad to say that was a lie. I called Gene Juarez in Southcenter mall and I was on hold for 8 minutes, and I am like ok cool they are busy, that's a good sign right. NOPE!! A woman picked up and her name is Chloe, I asked her what does a hair cut include and etc. she answered my part of my question and hung up on me. For the second time now, I have missed an appointment because I was told by scheduling the wrong time. After explaining to the receptionist the situation, they are not willing to try and reschedule or make the situation right-- the only response I got was "I'm sorry, I will talk with dispatch to make sure they tell clients the correct time."
