I should have believed the dozens of other terrible reviews on this salon. I was booked with Alex for a balayage and right off the bat her lack of professionalism made me uncomfortable. She walked out to the small waiting area and SHOUTED out my name. I felt like I was at Starbucks, not a professional salon and spa! I was not greeted politely or even with a smile! I arrived five minutes late to my appointment only to find a line of customers waiting to check in with no one staffing the counter. I waited for TEN minutes for someone to check me in for my wax appointment. When my appointment finally started my esthetician informed me that since I was 15 minutes late to my appointment that we were "really going to need to hustle" and that she wouldn't be able provide me with a full service experience. Decided to try Gene Juarez for a pedicure. Arrived on time for a 12:30 pm appointment. Checked in and sat for 25 minutes. Finally went back to the front desk, asked about my appointment. Front desk person ran back to check. Oh, she's just about done, just a few more minutes. I could not wait so left. Not coming back. Make realistic appointments and if the pedicurist is running late, let the waiting client know. Basic customer service.

I was here a couple sundays ago for a Shellac mani. It was great. Didn't last as long as others I have had done, but it was ok. Why the one star? Well let me tell you. The nail part of the spa is shared with the facial waxing bar. As I was sitting and getting my nails done I watched the Esthetician double dip on every client. DISGUSTING. I've been to this location before. I had a great haircut and color the first time. But the second time which was today, I came in and didn't get serviced. The front desk booked me for the wrong service when I specifically told her that I needed a color correction and a balyage. I just find this very inconvenient with bad customer service because there was nothing they could do besides say "sorry". Not to mention they were 20 mins late for my 2:00 appointment. I usually am not one to complain but I've paid ten dollars for a better haircut. I had my hair trimmed about two weeks ago and yesterday was the first time I straightened my hair since it was cut. it was immediately clear that the layers in my hair looked as though the women plucked random chunks of hair and cut them bluntly off. I previously had my layers feathered and Indiscrete into the bottom six inches of my hair. Unfortunately I'm giving a one star today to a company that has always been solid and my trusted spa and salon. My boyfriend sent me to Gene Juarez for a nice 2 hour mani/pedi session for Valentines Day today. After 2+ hours with the nail specialist, I was rushed out before my nail polish had a chance to dry, even while asking the nail tech "are you sure we're done" as she was holding my bags in her hand shooing me off. I had my haired died by Abbie, she was so rude I didn't know how to respond. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, which was fairly different than my hair, and she said it looked the same. I explained what I wanted and only got rude responses like I was the stupidest person on the planet. I'd say something when she was doing my hair and she wouldn't even respond. Horrible! I thought a place like this have to have minimum standards before anyone's hired to be a hair stylist.... Me and my mom came here from Salem, OR and I took my mom here to give her a new hair for year 2016. I booked Lucy, who charge $55. But the quality of the haircut was worse than great clip.
