This review is for Dr. Liaw. My LM has been going to her since he was 2 years of age. We followed from Pleasanton to Mipitas. You know the dentist is a not a place where children enjoy coming to. My LM has become addicted to milk at night, to the sweet things in life (aka candy) and his little mouth have not always been a happy camper. Dr. Liaw has given LM shots, placed caps to fillings to prevent future damage and I have say every office we have been, LM has left happy. My entire family and I have been going to Dr. Howard Edelman for many years now, even before he moved to Gentle Dental in Milpitas. Dr. Edelman is a very experienced, competent Dentist with almost 40 years of experience. He is always up to speed on the latest techniques. Been going to see Dr. Edelman for many years now, and I can honestly say that I haven't had anything but the best possible experience with him as my dentist. He's hilarious, he makes you feel comfortable, and his dental work is as close to flawless as it gets. He's done numerous fillings as well as a cap on my front tooth over five years ago that has lasted and blends in perfectly with the rest of my teeth. I will give 3 stars to be fair. The doctors here are good and carry good equipments. However, this year I cancelled my appointment and never re-scheduled another one. They billed my insurance company even for not scheduling an appointment or getting my periodic cleaning done :| . I learnt this when I received a letter from insurance company saying, I owe money :| :| :|

I've been going to Gentle Dental (seeing mainly Dr Potts, but also Dr Miller on occasion) for 5-6 years, and have always been very happy with it. The hygienists can be a little alarmist, but if it gets me to take better care of your teeth, hey, so be it. Today, though, I had some excellent service from them. Our insurance coverage is about to change. Doctor Edelman has been my doctor since I was a toddler, and im 28 now. He is always telling jokes to make me comfortable. He is a fantastic dentist and I recommend him to everyone.
The office is clean and well-equipped. Dr. Liaw and the staff were friendly and professional. Our main complaint is the scheduling. Even though they claim to provide "pediatric densitry", their only pediatric dentist, Dr. Liaw, is really only there every other Thursday. It's probably fine for yearly check-ups that you can schedule ahead of time. But if you want to have any control over the day & time, you better schedule your appointment 2-3 month in advance. I recently encountered a dental emergency (at least to me) -- a very old filling came out and I was in major pain. The tooth was basically rotted under the filling, so it was nasty. I have dental insurance, but an currently unemployed, so the 10 to 50% co-pays are really difficult for me to deal with. However, I found dentist, who after looking at my tooth said I needed to have have a root canal, or more likely, have it extracted. She did neither in her office.
