Arturo Avalos and Lafayette Moore is great people, with one controlling the front door Lafayette that would be. Arturo was great with treating us like a person. I am lost in this place until Arturo helped me out and gave me tremendous help.
I feel like its dangerous for 2 people to be detoxing in the same room from different drugs. There were multiple fights here that patients had to break up because the staff was not around or all females. A lot of the amenities are either broken or not available still due to covid. Indoor pool, barber, massage etc. Bathroom ceiling is falling down, there is a bad case of sewer flies in every room and alot of fixable things that they dont fix. TA have no people or situation skills??
I did not get much our of my therapist , Bill. He bullies the class at times and comes unprepared - he has no personal experiance in recovery but acts as if he does. In hindsight I should has asked for a change
Going to GHOP!!
I’ll begin with the positives first. Great housekeeping and meal service. Linda runs the kitchen and is outstanding. The bedrooms are always clean and comfortable. As for treatment, not so much. I met with my counselor/therapist Bill 2 times for 45 minutes each, half the time listening to him complain about his ex wife. The large group sessions are good if Jerry, Phil, Levi and Mondrea are leading. Everyone else is really bad and very elementary and repetitive. I, am sitting here at the greenhouse, with no place to go. Two days ago, my friend Lauren was leaving and I asked her to go to store and get me 5 packs of cigarettes. She didn't want to unless, i got permission. It was Easter, so not everyone was here. I asked my therapist if that would be ok and he said yes. So, when she came back with them, I went to the front desk to get them and she got real offended and took it rather personal and told me no i couldn't have them. The staff was, OVERALL, wonderful. Keeping COVID in mind, I want to remind you that most industries are suffering from underemployment, so don't be discouraged and allow it to affect your treatment despite the short staffing since this facility has also been affected. My personal experience tells that the nurse line/med lines will, more than likely, be the most frustrating for you.
