When I got this printer, I was thrilled at the thought of owning a brother Compact Laser Printer to use at home. I'm really impressed with this Brother - Black and white laser printer, Model number HLL2315dw. Its has wireless connectivity and automatic two sided printing. The printer was well packed and was simple to unpack and run a test page as shown. The cartridge supplied with the printer is a starter toner cartridge, which means you can print up to 700 pages. This black and white LASER printer is FANTASTIC! This printer prints so crisp and clear, even the finest little detail was easy to read. No blurriness at all. I got this printer to make flyers for my movies that I show here where I live, so the quality of print had to be very good, and it is! The fact that it will make over 2600 prints on a big laser cartridge is a huge plus. First but not foremost, this printer was VERY quick and easy to setup and install. It recognized my wireless network immediately after I installed the included software that contained driver's etc., to get me started. There's also an option to connect via USB cable, which is NOT included. NOW... I literally stood there with my mouth wide open at how fast this thing is! Goes into sleep mode constantly and won't wake up even after changing sleep settings. Goes offline constantly. I have to reset it and reconnect it anytime I want to use it. It's infuriating.
Worked great for 3 months but now it won't detect paper and it will get super hot when not in use. I have the protection plan but that won't make any difference Walmart will not return it.
I had such a horrible time getting it set up. I thought I had received a faulty device, and I'm fairly educated with electronics. I had called my sister for help after a few hours longer, and both almost giving up. I reset the device to factory settings, and attempted again if which somehow rectified the situation.
