Terrible. Just wanted me to replace my boiler - had no knowledge of how to fix the one I had. All it needed was a new fill valve and another piece I forgot what it was called - a plumber knew what he was doing - these guys had no clue. Horizon wanted $15K had it fixed for under $600. Waste of time and money to even call them!
although the tech was very professional and polite, I had to call twice to get someone to come out and check our AC that was not working this past Friday, during the hottest days this summer. I was initially told that someone would be out next Tuesday 08/16. They do not service ANY part of Berks County, so those of you like me who live there will have to contact someone else. I can walk 1/8 of a mile and be in Elverson PA, which IS in their limited service area. They said they MIGHT be able to make an exception. I want a company I can depend on ALL the time. I called yesterday 6/5/16 because my air condition is not working. I was given a window of 2pm - 6pm on 6/6/16. At 2:45pm I saw that I had a missed call and voicemail from Horizon. I had missed 3 calls between 2:30 - 2:45. I was probably walking my dog. When I called back, I listened to elevator music for 10 minutes. When I finally had someone to talk to, they said that the technician moved on since they tried to call me 3 times in a half an hour.
I think they ripped my dad off. $17,000 for an air conditoner. They took advantage of an 84 year old man.
I have (soon to be had) an annual maintenance svc agreement with Horizon for HVAC tuneup. The called to schedule the appointment for mid May 2016 The technician could not svc it and said there was a wiring problem and that the AC to thermostat needed to be completely re wired (gave me a $400+ quote)!! I reluctantly called them on this Thursday and they said they will schedule it once they confirm that the Warehouse has the items needed. Absolutely ridiculous. I've been on hold for over half an hour, waiting to talk to an "on call" manager, on 4 different lines to 4 different counties in PA just trying to get a hold of soemone, anyone! At this point even if we do get through I don't think it will be worth their service if this is the way they run their business. How can you claim to be open 24hrs a day yet not answer one call in 45minutes! Really disappointed with Horizon, sadly. I've heard good things about Horizon, and last year we purchased an entirely new Heating/AC system. This year, we went to turn our AC on for the first time, and it won't work - just gave us a message saying to contact Horizon. On hold for 30 minutes, then told they can get someone out here next week. (Seven days from now.) Today's high was in the 90s. We've got a baby who has been sick and fighting a fever.
