If I could give zero stars, I would. My family has been going to LAH since 1980. For over 35 years! The doctors who retired were amazing. As was the office staff that accompanied them. I have finally spent my last dime there and my last time there. The office manager has zero empathy and puts her efforts in "I understand mam/sir, but per policy...." rather than an ounce of compassion into the clientele or the animals. I asked to speak to a doctor and she told me that it's against policy to voice a concern or complaint to a d... read more
We have a long history of bringing our animals to Lafayette Animal Hospital. Clearly, with the retirement of great veterinarians, the new group of doctors care more about profits than they do about animal care. Our most recent incident is over our two rescue dogs, 10 and 7 years old, who CCC Animal Services needs documentation of them being spayed and neutered. LAH would only do so if we brought them in for $65 visits each. With the number of visits these dogs have had at LAH, one would think they know if our dogs fixed. Fro... read more
I have been bringing my pets there for 23 years, several years ago, the practice was sold to a large corporation. Since then the staff has gotten progressively ruder and less helpful. Dr Kessler is an excellent vet however he is surrounded by a group of unhelpful adminstrators. The compassion is gone. They have a set of rules and there is no further discussion. Not every situation fits into their nice neat box and they are unwilling to even have the discussion. It is unfortunate but this practice has gone from the best... read more
We are new to the area and needed a vet for our 88 year old boxer. The first time we went she had a sore on her body and all Dr. Norton said was to wash her wounds and maybe we should biopsy. 3 weeks later she has sores all over and when we brought her in Dr. Norton was extremely rude told us we were killing our dog by the food she was eating and was adamant that he had told that to us the last time. His tone was very judgmental and in fact he had never told us about the food. I requested antibiotics and Immediately made an... read more
We have been going to Laf Animal Hospital for many years and have loved the care they have provided for our dogs. Recently, we have been to Dr Norton and it has really become an uncomfortable process. It might be me, but I do not feel confident with his manner or recommendations. It almost feels like there are motivations besides your pets health in his thought process, such as food and drug recommendations that don't seem to fit the appointment or concern for bringing in your pet. Maybe it is just us, but doesn't feel right... read more
After a 25+ year relationship, I was told that I can no longer bring our animals here. (I honestly have never been told I could not come back to an establishment in my life, especially when I did not yell and/or use foul language but apparently I was not "professional" enough with the staff). This place has been going down hill for years and I now have an even greater reason to leave this review; all thanks to the heinous manager Marissa who I have not heard one positive thing about. My cats have had their mats brushed out/s... read more
I have been using them for 25 years and they used to be awesome. The last 4 or 5 years has gotten really bad. They must have new management or some other issue. All of the nice staff and doctors like Dr. Kelly and Dr Oday have left and the current ones are rude and condescending. The hospital smells like pee and you can't drop in without an appointment. Maybe they have too much business. :(
I can't let the year go by without writing about my experience at Lafayette Animal Hospital. we are long-term clients over 30 years we've lived in different areas and always come back to LAH. We brought our dog Honey Girl in on December 3rd as her stomach was distended. Doctor Norton saw her and took x-rays and he showed me that she had a mass. I was told to wait until the following day before we proceeded so that we could review the radiology report. I was traveling that day and in between planes contacted the office for t... read more
I recently stopped taking my dog to this Vet after 12 years and it is very sad The quality of service has diminished tremendously and the care and concern of my dog was also missing too ! One major reason is that this guy Norton and I won't call him a vet because he does not deserve to be called one is very unprofessional rude , does not listen but only to what he has to say. I have never met anyone as rude as he is ! I have now found a better animal hospital in Walnut Creek , Muller which I would recommend to anyone !
