I have a serious issue with this facility, my friend was in dire need of help and emitted herself to a hospital that she was unaware of, the suicide line did not tell her where she was going, or what the place was like before dropping her off at this hellish place. She ended up being stranded and held hostage at this facility for about a week with no results besides more mental scars that she has to try and heal on top of the ones she had to begin with. I self-admitted to Lakeland Behavioral Health on Monday, November 17th, hoping for genuine help during a vulnerable time. Instead, I left on Sunday, November 23rd feeling more frustrated, unheard, and emotionally depleted than when I arrived. I'm sharing this so others can make informed decisions. 1. My daughter was here for 5 days, and it will be 5 days that she will never forget for the rest of her life. She came home with more trauma than when she went. She was 13 and was left unsupervised so much that she and a boy were able to get way too close, and no one even noticed. horrible staff. nurse called me anorexic, had an attitude, no patience, staff had an attitude when patient asked for basic necessities such as mandatory meds, and complained about doing their job. horrible food, some showers are cold, ran out of basic necessities such as pads and hairbrushes. only staff who were kind and respectful were vivian, max, and sean. please give them a raise.
I was a patient here, couldn't open the windows, kids always fighting with staff, low-key sucked but the FOOD was good :3 kind of. It was low-key a joke, all of the kids were having sex n stuff it was low-key funny, like a reality TV show. The beds sucked, the showers had flatworms, and we could barely even see the sewage lake from the windows. this place is horrible and very unprofessional especially the staff not one male insight all women that didn't know what they was doing they have no interest at all in helping no one just a back and forth miscommunication doping people with medicine they have no security no police they have no one watching out for them no safety measurements they allow things to be done without parents consent and did I say ghetto the staff act like they from the hood my child was worser than she was before she got there Dont Go Here At All
zero out of zero wouldn't recommend. When I was admitted I waited over an hour in a room by myself to see someone to talk to me and bring me to the unit. We sat in a common area all day except to eat lunch downstairs or go to the gym if we could. We were punished for being too loud so half the time we couldn't go to the gym. I was seen by a doctor maybe twice in my stay. there was absolutely no help that I got out of my stay.
