We owe a couple rounds of whisky to the Founding Father of Gastown, Captain Jack Deighton. Also known as "Gassy Jack," he was a pilot turned saloonkeeper who loved to gas, & no, that doesn't mean what you might think it means. In Victorian times, the term meant to talk a lot & the Captain loved to do just that. Came with my son and he really enjoyed his burger. I had the salad with grilled chicken and avocado. It was great. Our server Sandra was awesome. Their place has such a cool vibe and the music was excellent too!
Great! We have a LOCAL in Toronto, so I wanted to try the one in Vancouver. The tacos were delicious as always, and I love for the donuts. Our server Maddy was this blonde, bubbly delight, who made our experience fun. Thanks, Vancouver!
We stopped here for a drink and snack and the place is hopping. Friendly and great service and a fun atmosphere. We snacked on the pierogis which was filled with cheese and had bacon and caramelized onions. It was pure comfort food and delicious. This will be definitely on my go to list next time I get to Gastown.
Out of curiosity, I came to Local Public Eatery for the first time to try out this restaurant. I love the vibrant lively atmosphere here! The food is absolutely fantastic & there are good varied selection of excellent alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. It is a pleasant surprise how wonderful this place is. A fun, energetic, and welcoming place to spend some time in Vancouver! I was visiting with my Mom for a quick two-day trip to celebrate her birthday, and we found our way into Local purely out of serendipitous luck. Visited Vancouver from Calgary for the week, Local ended up being one of our last stops and it was phenomenal. Lawren was our server and she was extraordinary, by far the most personable server we've had the entire time we've been in Vancouver. Certainly ask for her and you can be sure to enjoy the service. Spent a week exploring Vancouver and came across this little gem in the heart of Gastown the night before we left. Great location, excellent selection of local beers, and our server Amelia took amazing care of us.
