About this business
We owe a couple rounds of whisky to the Founding Father of Gastown, Captain Jack Deighton. Also known as "Gassy Jack," he was a pilot turned saloonkeeper who loved to gas, & no, that doesn't mean what you might think it means. In Victorian times, the term meant to talk a lot & the Captain loved to do just that. Amazing service and acknowledgment when it comes to food allergies / restrictions. Bartender was very aware of menu ingredients and immediately let Management know when I had an issue with a previous experience. I had only mentioned it in passing (wasn’t a complaint!) and she still let Management know. Manager then came over and talked to me about it. Most people roll their eyes at food allergies / intolerances, so I was very impressed and moved by this. Well done Local - thank you! 🙏🏼

Loved the food, beer and service. Great atmosphere to watch the game with friends. Cocktails definatly need work.
What a great new place in one of the best locations in Vancouver. Food and drink menu is amazing. The chef was excellent in providing a true vegan meal for one of my guests. I can’t wait for the patio to open!
