This review is purely based on the hostess that worked between the hour of 1900 to 2000 on 5/27/2023. We had put our name down for a table of 2 and I was told that the wait was going to be 30-45 minutes. I was fine with that because I understood that it was a Saturday night and the place looked pretty busy. However, after 25 minutes I had followed up with the hostess to see how much longer and she replied with "oh we'll call you when a table is ready, no worries." I had a burger. It was quite good a little bit on the pricey side. However, the burger was good. The only thing that I was very disappointed and I'm saying very disappointed. They did not have root beer. So I doubt I'll be coming here again unless they put it back on the red menu like come on which burger place does not have root beer. That's an American tradition
Six of us arrived at Local at around 10 pm, Saturday November 5th. Server served us until 12:30. We got our bills and decided, since we had a long train home we'd get another round of shots for the road. So because we had paid, we all got up and went to the bar to take the final shot. The breakfast sandwich and breakfast hash with beef were both really yummy. I ordered an orange juice and got like 1/4cup of watered down Tropicana in a highball glass that was 60% ice...really bizarre and the combination of watering it down so much plus filling it with ice tasted awful. How expensive is it for them to just give a person a normal glass of orange juice..?

I ordered the veggie burger and couldn't eat it because there was too much mayo, it was such a poorly put-together burger. It was also $18.50 CAD. My husband asked for the pasta which was very small portioned and we asked for no cheese, but it came with cheese. Nothing for kids here and the service seemed slow and not enough waitresses. Our waitress was nice and felt bad about the mix up and took off the meal from the bill.

Hello, I am leaving this review because I am hoping that Local Gastown reads this. My husband went out to eat with his buddy and ordered a Virgin Caesar because he was taking cough medicine due to a cold. When he got home, he was feeling really off and it was clear to me that he had been given something with alcohol in it (he was flushed, his breath smelled of alcohol). This is probably my worst bar experience . Beer is flat, chicken wing amount was very limited and perrogies were bland.

Being a huge supporter of local by coming here on the regular. I was completely disappointed by their new nachos. My partner and I came here with the excitement of having a full order of nachos that we enjoy on the regular but we were never informed by the changes that occurred. We love the kitchen staff that assemble all the dishes because they do a fabulous job day in and day out. We are disappointed by the direction the culinary team has decided to move in and will not be regular customers moving forward.

Im from seattle washington. i came in with a group of 6 people and we all ordered dishes. upon ordering my dish (hippy egg on toast on happy hour menu) the toast was cold and dry and very difficult to eat. the eggs (poached) were cold and were cooked all the way well done when i asked for them to be runny. when i informed the waitress of this matter she didnt seem to assist and tried to explain her way out of it as if i dont know my food pallet. wouldnt ever go to this place again. terrible service
