A definite step up from Chill Winston! Local has a great patio with full sunshine, but good luck getting a seat. It is already bumpin and it's only March. My friends and I went here for a St patty's day lunch which was really fun. The vibe was great, an older crowd which was refreshing and yummy food. Having frequented the Local in Kits many times, I was curious to see how that experience transformed to it's new Gastown location. Had the opportunity last Saturday with the girlfriend (17th) to do just that. Found parking just around the corner, and was pleasantly surprised to find the rates very reasonable at $2.00 per hour. Bear in mind though the max parking is 2 hours in Gastown, unlike other areas in the city were the max parking is 3 hours. (i.e. Yaletown for example.) The Local was amazing! This is my GF and I first time in Vancouver and we couldn't be happier. We had the deluxe burger and the wings. One word "YUM". On top of delicious food we had amazing service! Our waitress Justine made the experience phenomenal!!!! We loved her!!! She was very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and even gave us recommendations on things to do during our visit! The manager even came to check on us and was so pleasant to meet! Had an awesome time! Great atmosphere, music was the perfect volume and staff was great and attentive. Manager Jason was great! Came to check in and was super friendly and funny. Didn't try the food but will definitely be going back.

Very good steak, well cooked, and full of flavor. Jamie is an awesome server and I'd even be willing to bet that she's on par or better with the last yelpers review of Lauren. On a serious note, order the Steak and street corn, you won't be disappointed!

Pretty cool transformation of what used to be the old Chill Winston. I had high expectations of this place but ended up being disappointed because the server was expressionless and rude to us during our visit. We noticed that there was no cutlery on the table so we asked for some forks and extra napkins. She looked at us vacantly, walked away without a word, came back with a handful of forks and knives (no napkins), shoved everything into my hand and walked away again without saying a single thing to me. ....Okay then? Great place to socialize, my friends and I are always drinking responsibly at Local and we always know our limits. The bar tenders, servers, cooks, and bar backs are amazing, polite and kind individuals. Make sure to check out this new bar and enjoy the FANTASTIC quesadillas.
