Started 20 minutes late. Did not acknowledge, apologize, or thank me for waiting. Colorist asked me what color I wanted on my roots. Obviously I want my roots to match my hair. Isn't that what she's trained to do? Then my processing time was cut 10 minutes short. I imagine they did that because they were running late. When I asked why she was cutting it short she tried to gas light me by saying it will take her 10 minutes to walk from the chair to the bowl and get me ready for rinse out. What? My first appointment to color my hair 2 years ago was a good experience. However, I went in for a root touch-up before going on vacation last fall and it was not great. The color did not match at all (much darker), it was not applied carefully (a lot and very fast - I thought they'd do a careful job) and no kidding, I was wiping color out of my ears for at least 2 weeks after. I like the products, but my root touch-up job left much to be desired.

Sadly much as I like the convenience of having roots and gloss service done without having to wait weeks for an appointment, the standard of customer service and professionalism is not at all consistent, so you never can be sure of the experience you'll have. The colorists have been friendly and caring during my color process over the years but this time I had the bad luck of having the most unfriendly person imaginable. Have been using Madison Reed for a while--this was my first color bar experience. Started off iffy as I was ignored for at least 5 min. When a pair of young women walked in, they were greeted and catered to until I said I had been waiting. My colorist was great, friendly and prompt. Initial look at color job was good but when I got home, I found my skin stained in SO many places. Bad first experience! No service at all. The colorist was very unpleasant she asked what I wanted and to show her a picture. After I shown her the picture she said she can't do it it's not a full service salon they specialize in grey touch up not highlights as that's what the picture appears. I acknowledged and said that's fine and asked what she can do today. I was okay with the all over color she would persist to tell me it won't be like the picture and to go back to my hairdresser who colored my hair. At that point I wish... read more

There is a problem. My highlights do not last. I should not have to redo them after 4 weeks. I noticed that there was a problem when my family and friends started commenting on the low quality of my hair color lately. I called in and I was greeted by an unhelpful person via text message. There was not ownership of the issue taken or acknowledgment of my experience. I am not sure if this is a problem with the quality of their products or the specific professional who worked on me. Either the owner needs to take down the sign that says "we can't wait to color your hair" or simply change out the colorist. I've been wanting to lighten my hair as I have dark hair and grays are coming out. I wanted to lighten my hair color so that I don't have to color my grays as often. MADISON reed at Corte Mader has a very poor colorust after asking for Dark Brown color when I got home my grays were gold not dark and after a week the color was light red washed out. After paying $150.00 I should just have color my own hair nerver returning.
