From the moment I walked in I was greeted with warmth and eagerness. The salon is clean, bright and just overall cheery. My colorist, Jovana, was friendly and made me feel right at home. It being my first time getting a gloss she was happy to explain it to me and help me pick out a color based on her expertise. We decided on mixing an amaretto and honey color to create a unique auburn like shade. After letting my hair sit with the color for about 20 minute she brought me back for a wash which included an amazing head massage... read more
This is the first Madison Reed location that I've been to. I came in not knowing exactly what I want and what to expect. I always thought that one of the biggest pet peeves for EVERY hair stylist was unprepared and indecisive customers. Not these women who work at this location! They are so patient, talkative, and kind. The women who helped me chose my color was so helpful and gave me so many recommendations and honest opinions (she has a very unique name that sounds like Shauna?). Just so you know, they don't do hair cuts h... read more
If you haven't heard or tried Madison Reed, I highly suggest going here for your next color. This location has only been around for about one month, but they are busy! This is a relatively new company, about 4 years old. It was originally started online to help cover grey hair. They have now opened 2 stores in New York and two in the north bay with more to come. All their products are free of ammonia, and everything is gluten free, and not tested on animals, among other things. All chemicals as relatively harmless. Thing... read more
They didn't take responsibility for botching my hair and clearly don't care about their clients. I went to Madison Reed - the Corte Madera location. I brought in a picture of exactly what I wanted (A bright blond) and the person put on SOME color. My hair ended up a dark / red orange. They said they'd try to revise it, which would mean putting another color on, and that would be a darker color. This is NOT what I wanted and wouldn't fix my hair. I asked for a highlight. Maybe THAT would help, but they refused to do anyth... read more

The service was disappointing and unprofessional. The colorist made intrusive inappropriate remarks about what she read on my phone. The stylist didn't know how to use a curling iron. Some of the stylists had bad tempers. The color didn't turn out and when told this, they said they didn't pick the color in lieu of offering a solution.

My first appointment to color my hair 2 years ago was a good experience. However, I went in for a root touch-up before going on vacation last fall and it was not great. The color did not match at all (much darker), it was not applied carefully (a lot and very fast - I thought they'd do a careful job) and no kidding, I was wiping color out of my ears for at least 2 weeks after. I like the products, but my root touch-up job left much to be desired.
Business response:
Hi D, thank you for your feedback. We’re so sorry to hear your root touch-up didn’t meet expectations, and we’ll be using your feedback to improve our services moving forward.
Sadly much as I like the convenience of having roots and gloss service done without having to wait weeks for an appointment, the standard of customer service and professionalism is not at all consistent, so you never can be sure of the experience you'll have. The colorists have been friendly and caring during my color process over the years but this time I had the bad luck of having the most unfriendly person imaginable. She had nothing to offer when I showed her a photo of the color I was aiming for, she slapped on the c... read more

Jayisha Morgan smelled to much like weed was very rude as if she had a attitude I'll never go back
Have been using Madison Reed for a while--this was my first color bar experience. Started off iffy as I was ignored for at least 5 min. When a pair of young women walked in, they were greeted and catered to until I said I had been waiting. My colorist was great, friendly and prompt. Initial look at color job was good but when I got home, I found my skin stained in SO many places. On my neck, at my jaw, and worst, at my hairline. i had to scrub the dye off my skin (and take some skin away with it). Very sloppy. For the price,... read more
