I've gone to Madison Reed six times and the service went from good to terrible! My last experience I was greeted with a mask (I was drinking a coffee and no signs said mask required or I would have put one on). There is no one assigned to the front desk so my colorist was interrupted repeatedly trying to greet clients and take care of their needs. After she applied the color, I did not hear from her as she appeared too busy. I finally flagged her down after 30 minutes and asked how much longer the process would take and she said another 15 minutes. i found this part of the experience was not the personal touch I would want on a salon visit. I left a review one week ago. Management asked for my contact information so they could follow up with me to ensure a five star experience going forward. Hah, they NEVER contacted me! I won't be going back to this salon after the nasty way the manager treated me. I can't subject myself to this "customer service" at $150 a pop. Disgusting! The color was not at all what was promised. The color applied was a disgusting brown grey. It changed the color of my entire head of hair which was a golden blonde. I was specific about what I wanted. So upset, I called the salon & Madison Reed headquarters. (I had to spend more than $250 to repair the damage.) They offered a $40 gift card and promised to send it to me. NEVER RECEIVED IT! False advertising, complete lack of regard for the results.

I was really looking forward to getting a beautiful shade of red to brighten up my mood for spring. After arriving and sitting down, I was inspired by the images and quotes on the big monitors, women expressing their joy in being beautiful and being alive, being bad ass, wow this is what I need! My hair turned brassy orange immediately. It's just not good color. My stylist was a lovely person, but the product itself is garbage. If I wanted amateur looking brassy dyed hair I could just hit up a Rite Aid and do it myself for about $140 dollars less. Again, I don't think this is a reflection on my colorist, this is just the product. It's not good. But it will make you appreciate paying extra for your good colorist, who you should tip extra well from now on.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! I went to Madison Reed before the Christmas holidays to get my hair colored for the first time. I spoke with the woman on the phone before my appointment to explain the look I wanted. She was very nice and said they would be able to give me the desired look. Before the coloring process began I showed the woman an image of what I wanted. Do not bother with Madison Reed Corte Madera. Far better experience with Hayes Valley, MR. Night & day difference. Very understaffed in Corte Madera, 20 minute late start, rushed blow dry and roots color is way off, sat with it on for way too long. Hair massage for all of two seconds? Waste.
