My first visit, the colorist was less than friendly nor did she explain the process until I asked. The color faded and washed out daily over the next 3 weeks. My gray around the hairline was not completely covered after I specifically told the colorist that it was a problematic area for me. Faded result over priced products and the staff is rude. One lady did smile. The water coffee or tea offering is sporadic and you sit and wait and no one tells u anything.

Assembly line environment with a mix of experienced colorists and a few young out of beauty school girls and full of defensive attitude. The manager is more of an Ursula than a professional manager. Over all miserable tired faces and ok color results. Sad.

I walked into the corta madera location and the main lady at the front desk was the worst listener. I told her what I wanted and she quickly had the hairstylist mix the color without having a proper consultation, I hadn't even made it to the chair yet and they were mixing color. I had to ask her to have a proper consultation and show me on an iPad since I was feeling uncomfortable that she wasn't listing. If you're thinking of trying out Madison Reed, my recommendation is don't waste your time and money. The colorists are very inexperienced and the prices are essentially the same as what you would pay at a salon with experienced colorists. Also, they are so slow and you'll end up wasting a good part of your day to get an inferior color for the same price as you would a quality salon.

My colorist suggested an ashy color to tone (correct) over lightened highlights done to my hair about a year prior to my Madison Reed service. I agreed to what I was told a slightly ashy, completely temporary color that would leave my highlights, but just tone them down a tad. Although I loved the immediate result, my hair was completely dark--no highlights what-so-ever. I was looking forward to my appointment. They unfortunately fell way below expectations due to the extremely rude and angry assistant who blew dry my hair. Unprofessional to say the least. Give them a try for color only if you're in a pinch. Otherwise, stick with a real reputable salon.
