I was nervous about visiting a salon during COVID, but relieved to see that Madison Reed was practicing social distancing. Upon arriving, they gave me a new mask and kimono to put over my clothes. They spaced us out by every other salon chair. The stylist was friendly, but very straightforward. I had booked an all-over color appointment, which doesn't include lightening. To be honest with you, I struggled deciding what to rate this review because there were quite a lot of mixed emotions with my experience. Please note that this review is based on my interaction with this particular business and not their ability to color hair. I had received a Yelp Elite Perk that covered only root + gloss, however I did call the salon and requested to pay the difference if I were to do a blow out with light works. I have been using Madison Reed's root cover powder for a few years when I need coverage in a pinch. I never thought that doing tour own roots at home was hard... until I tried to do it myself during quarantine. The colorist at the salon helped me pick the right color and it covered my white hairs, incorrect previous root color, and my actual roots. I did have to sit a bit for the color to soak in (45 minutes), but that is because they don't use heat and I have white hairs missing pigment. The color was an amazing match... read more

Thanks to Yelp, I was able to take advantage of a hair coloring promo at Madison Reed. I'm so glad I did! Not only was it 1.5 hours of uninterrupted me time (so needed because I have a 1.5 and 3 year old not in daycare), but I walked out with a fresh new hair color. I've been wanting to try this place out and I'm glad I waited because I got an opportunity to experience it via Yelp Elite. I don't color my hair often, but when I do it's always quite a splurge at the salon. The price here doesn't depend on your hair length. All over color costs $90 and blowout costs $30 (free if you do it yourself). Walking in, the place was clean and beautiful. How awesome was this place!! So let me start by saying I don't EVER get my hair colored or go to a salon. This would probably have been my 3rd time going in my 32 years of life. I normally just do a box job at home. They start off asking a few questions about what you're expecting and they let you know what they can offer you in their services. For a color bar/hair salon that only does hair color, their place is immaculately clean. No stain in sight when I went. Everything was all marble, white, and green inside. Very beautiful, aesthetically. They had me sanitize upon entering, then gave me a disposable mask to replace my cloth one to protect it from getting stained. Yanina colored my hair. Had an amazing experience at the new Madison Reed Color Bar . They are located at the Mosaic District next to the new Sephora. Park in the lot across from the shop. You walk out the door and Madison Reed is right in front of you. They are SO very clean and they practice social distancing. These people were great even though they couldn't help me achieve my hair goals. They were open and honest when I came in about what they can and can not do with my hair. They told me they have a principle against using bleach and that the hair color I wanted would require it. Even though I was disappointed, I admire their honesty and commitment to principle.
