THIS IS THE WORST BROTHER PRODUCT This printer is the WORST. The ink jets continually clog and it is absolutely impossible to use in any capacity due to the ink problem. I have wasted time trying different ink, self cleaning. I would like return it because it is a waste of time and money.
Waste of money unless you can afford to have replacement cartridges on hand at all times Although it prints fast, the color pics I printed were not as good as the cheapest Dell inkjet I have. But the reason I could not rate this printer above a 1 is because of the way that Brother forces you to buy all of the color cartridges just to be able to use the printer once their ink is low or out if you make the mistake or removing a color cartridge. Worst issue. If one of the colors runs out ... Ok printer. Slow to copy and print. Worst issue. If one of the colors runs out you will be unable to copy or print even if you only want to copy black. received a box with water damage absolutely paid for a new printer and received a box that was definitely damage by water.
Information for potential buyers Printer goes offline for no reason often; need to turn off and on printer and restart computer in order to print. Not efficient on ink. Printer says out of ink but when shake ink container, there is still ink. A lot of ink used for print head cleaning/clogged nozzles. Print heads clogged often. Not happy with color copies, copies not crisp. Paper doesn't feed out properly in output tray causing jams.
One Star The software is utter crap.
Do Not Recommend from my current MFC-5910-DW Took a Hour setup. Compared to my present Brother MFC-J5910-DW. It is way fast on printing, was easier to setup ( did not to call Brother), but Color Photo Poor Quality from my Computer, Copy Quality Poor from Scan, Overall, it Sub-Par from my MFC-5910-DW.
I'm done with Brother! It's Trash! This machine worked rather well for 6 months. I was happy with the performance even over my multi-function HP. The issue came up with print head problems on the black. The machine refused to clean it providing lines, missing data, streaks and what have you when printing. Going thru the diagnostics myself and then with Brother tech support, wasted a lot of time to end up with a nonworking machine.
