Built to waste ink Big Brother decrees "You WILL waste ink", and if you buy this printer, you certainly will. I am currently trying to get it to print a single page PDF document and it refuses to make a clean output. I'm on my second round of maximum "head cleaning", which is basically a blood offering to the demons of printing in the hopes they'll finally let me print something. Hate it We wanted a simple wireless printer- this one set up okay, but once you run out of ink and we only print in black and white 99% of the time, it requires all the colors to print black and white. So frustrating. Also, the ink cartridges are small so we constantly are having to buy more freaking ink. I would never recommend this printer. The Great Ink Cartridge Scam Now I'm stuck. The printer says my yellow cartridge is empty. Even though I have never printed anything in color. I always select the print in grayscale/black & white option, but it sucked the ink out of my yellow cartridge all the same. Now I can't print anything! Cheaply made. Had it one month before it started jamming. Jamming every page. Cheaply made. Keeps jamming. Every other page.
WORST product Truly this is probably the worst product I have ever purchased. The ink cartridges are a fortune to replace - they can't be refilled and you can't buy a knock-off. I probably spent about $100 in ink alone in a year, and I *hardly* print anything. I have had it less than two years, and I have regretted this purchase more than any other. Brother Printers are garbage It might make a good anchor for a small boat but as a printer, you will regret buying it as much as I do. Impossible to do any quick printing, there is always some problem with this printer. I bought it at Staples, the salesperson must have hated me for something and got his revenge. Be prepared to have Brother ship you ink in bulk as it needs ink every third page.
Ink Disappears So Fast It Must Be Evaporating In general this printer is fine except for one thing. The ink runs out INSANELY fast. Everyone knows that about printers, but this one is, by far, the worst I've seen. I've only printed less that 30 pages, over half black and white, but the yellow ink cartridge has run out after printing 12-15 color pages. Nothing but problems spice I bought this crap printer There is a printer jam all the time and I go to clean it out and there's no paper in there that is jammed. Error messages all the time... Waste of money.
Printer failed after 7 months - no way to find repair center I purchased this printer in May and loved it until today. Two week ago I stocked up on Brother cartridges for it. Today, it was in the middle of a print job consisting of 4 pages. It printed one page perfectly, then stopped and displayed an error that said to re-install the cartridges firmly.
