Prints adequately, scanner terrible for photos The print quality is adequate for documents. The scanner is also adequate for documents. But photos are scanned dark and with too much contrast. It's really useless for scanning photos.
Garbage printer, complete ink scam This printer is nothing more than a scam to get you buy ink. I have had 69-70% ink volume left in cartridges and then it will randomly be empty. Once you are "out" of ink, it won't let you print in black and white, you have to go buy more. I will never buy a brothers printer again.
Broke and unrepairable Liked it...now I Hate it! I have not had the printer that long but now it is useless and I have to go out and get a new one I took a picture of the piece of plastic that broke off when I opened the cartridge door to replace the inks. I didn't see or feel anything different at first, but I could not close the cartridge door. I kept trying but it would not close. BROTHER PRINTER A LEMON! I purchased this printer on July 14, 2021 and it has been nothing but trouble since the first day it was delivered on July 15, 2021. I kept trying to follow instructions online, but nothing has helped with the problem that no connection will hold with my computer. A few days late & then rude Yes, In short, purchased this Brother for work docs needed Stat. Wifi aligned- printer recognized sporadically & w/o any messages Re- not connected/ offline etc; side door snapped off but least of worry; then, sheets came out faded- to blank- to sometimes printing/ Ink was full but changed out to back- up= lots of blanks. Worked upon plug-in It worked as well as any printer we’ve ever had. Easy to set up and use!
Printing in Black and White uses tons of color ink!??!?!!?!! I only print in black and white and have had to replace the colored ink so many times. I'm getting rid of this thing. I am tech savy, and got on tech support too, they said it's designed to use color no matter what. So there it is.....what a con job.
Do not use for card stock: AVOID MANUAL FEEDER I bought this printer because it CLAIMED that it could print on card stock through the accessory manual feeder . The manual (back of the machine) feeder for one-at-a-time card stock printing made the justification calibration totally ruined after 1 day…It worked fine on regular paper through the regular paper tray but once the calibration got ruined no paper was calibrated no matter how hard I tried to use the machine’s internal calibration settings. Impossible to read the LCD screen This is the most difficult-to-use printer we've ever had. The LCD screen is almost impossible to read. Sometimes the printer stops mid-document. In order to learn why it stopped, one has to be able to read the LCD screen. External light doesn't help. Yes, we have read the Instructions for improving the LCD display by changing the back lighting and contrast. The instructions for doing this don't help if you can't see what's on the screen. Also, the screen is tiny.
