Sorry Brother I bought 2 of these for our small office. One is for our office in Hanover, PA and one for our office in Pittsburgh. They have been a real pain since I bought them. I have installed the latest software for the printers. The printer will stop working even though it shows that it's online and idle. I set the printer up first as a WiFi printer and that did not last long as it would drop out of the network. I then switched to a wired connection and that didn't fare any better. Dots on the print jobs - hunk of junk From the first day I’ve had problems with this printer printing random dits on the pages. After it’s printed a very large volume in one batch it stops, for a while, unless I don’t use it for a day or so and then the dits are back. Basically, it’s a hunk of junk and while I was happy with my previous Brother machine, I won’t buy another.
Doesn’t last long Didn’t have this long before the scanner and fax stopped working. Brother said to contact a service person who told us it would be cheaper to buy a new printer. Very disappointed that I wasted my money.
Bad purchase I've purchased this printer previously about a year or two ago and that one still works. I bought another one for a small office back in March 2019 and it has been nothing but trouble. I'm not sure if the manufacturing changed or if I got a bad product but it is AWFUL. Constant paper jams that are solved by just opening and closing it, saying "no paper" when there is indeed paper and several connectivity issues. There are black dots randomly spread on the printed papers. New machine 8/2/2019 I have had one Brother machine for 5 years and like it very much. So I bought another one last month 8/2/2019. I did not install until last week. The newly printed papers having black dots. I thought it is some dust in the new machine. I waited for 100 pages, the dots are still there. So, I suspect there is something wrong with the drum. I am going to talk to the technical service. But, how?
Unreliable I've had fairly good experience with Brother MFCs until this one. It had issues one after the other. Too many to list. It's so frustrating to print a clear copy that I'm going to have to buy a new one. Scanner works fine but the printer has been terrible.
Don’t waste your time or money I have lost over 10 hours struggling with this printer. The mixed paper is constantly having a paper jam. Literally around 5 or 6 times per printing. DON’t waste your money or time on this product. Also, tech could care less about your needs and when you call product support after being on hold for over twenty minutes you get disconnected and they don’t call you back per Brother policy. In 1 day I lose 2 hours just trying to get through.
Poor software The first machine was broken. The light did not move across the glass top. Amazon very efficiently replaced it. The second machine was a nightmare to set up. I eventually called a technician who spent 4 hours setting it up. Brother technicians just kept making worse. I would not recomend Brother there technical or the software . In addition to the cost of the machine l spent $200 to make it work. Really disappointing
Disappointed I’m disappointed with this purchase, it works but it’s alright. A printer at this price needs to do a better job.
