Totally Unreliable - Broke in less than 100 pages in 4 months - Mfr. wont repair or replace! After printing only 100 or so pages, the printer started spilling ink on pages... contacted Brother tech support, the worst tech support ever! Will not help and told the parts are not under warranty! The printer was purchased only 4 months ago from Amazon... Please save your money and don't get stuck with a cheap printer and bad quality!
Terrible Quality This printer replaced an old color brother printer. I had no previous issues so I figure brother was a good brand. Not this time. This more expensive unit had always printer with smudge on paper. I am still on the original manufacturer toner. I bought it 6 months ago. I have had to clean the drums a few times, still the quality is not there, and quickly worsens. I am so disappointed. I don't have time to be replacing printers every few months.

Not great quality. Mine made a LOUD plastic on plastic scraping sound each time a page was being printed from the very first day. It printed ok and the sound got somewhat softer after a few thousand pages. Now after just 5 months there is a light grey slightly streaky background on every page being printed. I cleaned the drum with alcohol swabs but it did not help. Yep, still under warranty but go ahead and try to get a replacement...
Problems with drum and toner The printer came with a a drum and toner cartridge. The print pages were dirty and the problem got worse with time. I have now bought a new drum and cartridge and it seems to work fine. I am not sure whether it was the drum or the toner cartridge. But the combination that came with the printer seemed defective. I tried cleaning the drum and toner cartridge and it did not help.
Constantly Offline, Rarely Works on Mac Ever since I got this printer it's been nothing but an absolute headache. In order to ever have a chance at using it, I have to turn it on and off several times and turn my computer on and off. And only then is it even a possibility that the printer will connect to my computer. It will almost never AirPrint, especially if you're not hovering over it. You can’t print label You can’t print label
Brother quality is no longer there Purchased this printer to replace a much older Brother unit that had given good service for years. Did not work out of box - would not stay connected to wifi. Would not print even when connected Brother support were easy to reach and spent over 90 minutes troubleshooting, but could not fix it.
worked exactly 1 year to date then the motherboard died. great printer for 1 year use only.
