My experience was positive - in every way. Dr. Ammar responded to my concerns, recommended and conducted several diagnostic procedures, and explained the results of those procedures in a clear, easy-to-understand manner.
Office Staff very helpful and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Dr Amar very thorough and not in a hurry to get to the next patient.
Dr Ammar is very caring and took the time to explain my procedure and made me feel comfortable under his care. He is really good and skilled at what he does. Dr Ammar fixed my eye and now I’m good as new and can see very well. I’m so grateful!
Dr Ammar is such a great communicator as well as having the perfect disposition for being a doctor! His attitude and personality shows you how much he cares about your treatments and also explains things so well.
I had a recent eye injury emergency and Dr Ammar got me into see him immediately…even though my current insurance did not cover the visit…he treated me and his office got me hooked up with another retina doctor in my network for ongoing treatment…I can’t say enough about how I was treated and the care I received…I highly recommend Dr Ammar or Dr Jain at the Retina Clinic of San Diego.
Dr. Ammar is candid but kind. He never rushes, and he makes the patient an active participant in treatment plans. His expertise is impressive. I can’t imagine trusting my eyes to anyone else.
Dr Ammar was thorough, explaining everything along the way, and took time to answer all my questions. He was able to fit me in ASAP for a necessary procedure, saving my retina from detaching….I had to call the office with some questions, the staff were prompt, polite, and knowledgeable

Clean and comfortable office, fantastic staff that are friendly and helpful, and Dr. Ammar is wonderful. He explained everything clearly, was kind and compassionate, and confident in what he does without being cocky. I felt completely safe and calm in his skilled hands as he performed laser surgery on my eye. I’m so happy my optometrist referred me to him. No one likes to have problems with their retinas, but if you do this is where you want to go. He’s the best.
