Large company and the plumber that came was still in training and doesn't even know how to replace a bathroom vanity faucet by himself. Price was 3 to 4 times what a local independent plumber would have charged. I can't recommend MC to any of my family and friends. They seem to overcharge and underdeliver on their work.

This is the 2nd - and last - time I use Mike Counsil Plumbing. They replaced my toilet (feel like it was a lot - $1,300 for a Kohler - but whatever), but did not get my dishwasher in operable condition. They just replaced the air gap, tacked on some other mystery fees, and left me with a still-inoperable dishwasher and a $500 bill. We used Mike Counsil for a quote on a home repiping, and I have to say, the whole experience was nothing short of outrageous. I get that sometimes contractors throw out a high quote when they don't want the job, but this was absolutely egregious. Here's the breakdown: Water service line replacement from the main to our house was quoted at over $17K. I just called to check if they are available today since my toilet looks clogged. The lady answering the phone never gave an answer immediately, and kept asking me provide all the information. Even when I made it clear that I need help today as out toilet is clogged, she kept ignoring the question and repeated like a machine for all my info. I got ripped-off, too. I wish I'd have checked Yelp first before calling for service, and I so wish I'd have gotten another quote before agreeing to any work from Mike Counsil. Called for service to get two shutoff valves replaced under a sink with one leaking. A plumber and what appeared like a sales guy showed up. The plumber immediately goes looking at the pipes under the floor and comes back saying that he found electrolysis and about 8 feet of copper pipe and 3-4 fittings have to be cut out and replaced. Company seems to have good infrastructure, formal process for setting up appointment, etc. I am a landlord and could not attend meeting. When tech called me with assessment, I needed a new water heater. He was quick to upsell me on premier package, he sited issues and extra work needed. I asked him if he could send something in writing so I could quickly look into what he called code violations, he said they don't really do that. Do not use Mike Counsil Plumbing. I had them come out to look into a smell that was coming from my master bedroom sink, and they proceeded to do their investigation of the problem. They started out in the toilet and said they could not get a camera down into the pipes to determine if it the pipes where clogged. They proceeded say that I needed to upgrade my pipes to add a vent and a two way valve in the front yard to just investigate the problem unfortunately we let them proceed due to the fear they led onto that it was a cl... read more

Go anywhere else, the poor rating here is well deserved and I wish I'd checked before having them do work at my place. They'll quote ridiculously expensive rates on work that doesn't need to be done. Ridiculously overpriced quotes on work that doesn't need to be done, and patronizing responses to bad reviews.

Patently unethical estimates for insanely over-priced and unnecessary work. Go elsewhere for your plumbing needs. I called regarding a blocked sewer line on a Friday afternoon. The rep came out went under the house to examine. Once he came to discuss the work, he said the sewer had broken under the base rock beneath the house (it wasn't visible but sewage was coming from the area), and there were pools of sewage under the house, and the entire line to the street would have to be replaced.
