Buyer beware. I had roots in my sewer pipe. They said they would replace the cast iron pipe in my house with ABS. The price was 3x normal price. I found out after the fact. The guys who did the job sat around in their trucks for around 4 hours a day. My daughter watched and timed them. The ground outside wasn't tamped so it became a large sink hole. They down sized my pipe size from 4" to 3" now I have existing clogging problems due to slow drainage. Their reasoning was it met code so you get what we place. Then... read more

My 86-year-old mother saw an ad for Mike Counsil Plumbing on TV and contacted them about a leaky toilet. The company turned a leaky toilet into $46,000 worth of work, most of which was unnecessary and overpriced. After that, they tried to get her to do a complete gas re-pipe for $19,882. Luckily, I was alerted this time and had PG&E come out to inspect. PG&E found nothing wrong! A complete scam. Twice. The 1 star reviews are real. They will rip you off. We contacted Mike Counsil plumbing to provide an estimate for replacing a thermostatic shower valve that was leaking. I did my research beforehand and knew the job would likely take about 1 hour. When they provided an estimate of $1100 for the work, I was astounded. When I asked how 1 hour's worth of work could cost $1100, they didn't disagree with me on how long it would take, but simply said that is what they charge. Don't... Just Don't !!! Lord help you if they consider you 'elderly'. That means they can charge you $42,000. for a $25,000. job which should have been a simple toilet unplug. Our call for help was answered fairly promptly. The customer service agent was very cordial and explained the steps for the appointment. They showed up through the window - and I was met by two very nice technicians. I explained the issue to them and simply told them that this same thing occurs every 4-6 years and I simply don't have the snake to fix the issue. Had a problem with tree roots intertwined in drain. This company charged me triple what I have paid in the past. Then they wanted to go under house to check piping... Never again. Good Luck. ..

MC Plumbing is refusing to service our sewer clean out. We are part of an HOA (we are also on the board) and each unit has its own Sewer Clean out. They initially wouldn't deal with the HOA but now I'm simply trying to schedule to have our own sewer clean out at our own unit cleaned and they won't even do that much. I was told I'd get a call back shortly and needed to call back myself after almost 2 hours to get this update. $400 to turn the pressure valve to high! Wrote 3 page reviews on what's happening. But seriously that just seems a little too much! They were responsive, called to tell us the time. Hence 2 stars
