I called to see if they would install a seat bidet and butt dryer on my toilet. My interlocutor said she was transferring me to someone who would take care of me. Then I was cut off and no one called back, even though they had my coordinates.

I need to remind people that this company has consistently made a practice of trying to fool its customers. A few years ago, when they replaced my water pipes, their rep forged a financial document that would have overcharged me several thousand dollars. I caught it just in time. Stay away from this company. They will try to scam you. I was quoted $1100 for a routine leaky faucet cartridge replacement. After researching, I realized a new Delta shower cartridge costs $70. I did the repair myself. Took an hour and saved a thousand dollars. It really is a shame companies like this are successful taking advantage of those who don't know better.

I got in touch with them through their website. When the guy called to confirm the appointment I asked if there was a charge to come out. He didn't give me an answer so I asked again. This time he paused for a long time and said "We'll let you know when we call you to confirm the appointment tomorrow." That's not how business works. If there's a trip charge, you quote it up front in a clear, concise manner.

Jose showed up an hour late to provide an estimate and wasted my time. I showed him the scope of the work, and advised I was taking quotes from other vendors. Jose then told me MC was a premium plumbing service and very expensive. He also stated he would prefer to quote part of the job, but not the more difficult aspects of the work I needed done. Buyer beware. I had roots in my sewer pipe. They said they would replace the cast iron pipe in my house with ABS. The price was 3x normal price. I found out after the fact. The guys who did the job sat around in their trucks for around 4 hours a day. My daughter watched and timed them. The ground outside wasn't tamped so it became a large sink hole. They down sized my pipe size from 4" to 3" now I have existing clogging problems due to slow drainage. Their reasoning was it met code so you get what we place. Then... read more

My 86-year-old mother saw an ad for Mike Counsil Plumbing on TV and contacted them about a leaky toilet. The company turned a leaky toilet into $46,000 worth of work, most of which was unnecessary and overpriced. After that, they tried to get her to do a complete gas re-pipe for $19,882. Luckily, I was alerted this time and had PG&E come out to inspect. PG&E found nothing wrong! A complete scam. Twice. The 1 star reviews are real. They will rip you off. We contacted Mike Counsil plumbing to provide an estimate for replacing a thermostatic shower valve that was leaking. I did my research beforehand and knew the job would likely take about 1 hour. When they provided an estimate of $1100 for the work, I was astounded. When I asked how 1 hour's worth of work could cost $1100, they didn't disagree with me on how long it would take, but simply said that is what they charge.
