Took my dog for an open wound that wouldn't heal, it was partly my fault. Got there at 8pm ,sat in a room for 3 hours to be seen . When the doctor finally came to talk for 10 min over the wound ,doctor explained that they were going to stitch the wound and see if It will heal , I ask the doctor how long more would it be ,she responded it wouldn't be longer. 2 hours later finally a nurse came to treat my dog . When They told me that I was ready to go home at 1am , I notice that my dog still had an open wound. I ask the nurse... read more

Business response:

Marcos, we know your time is valuable and can assure you we make every effort to see clients in a timely manner. As an ER Hospital we cannot always predict the wait-time. Emergency cases also take priority at times and do cause inevitable delays. We always try to communicate our wait times to the best of our ability. We are sorry that you feel like we didn't meet your expectations.

I took my sick dog here on a Saturday at the recommendation of my regular vet. We immediately got put in a room and were told the vet would be in to see us in twenty minutes. We were then completely ignored for two hours. We visited the front desk several times to see when a vet would be able to come see our very sick dog and we were either rudely spoken to or straight up ignored. We ended up walking out after the two hour mark in frustration. The icing on top of the cake was the front desk receptionist who chased us out of ... read more

If you're able to, try to avoid this place as much as possible. When I noticed my dog became lethargic for a few days, I tried to call my regular vet to book an appointment to figure out what was going on. After discovering that most vets around the area were booked and I didn't want my pet to starve herself for the weekend, I settled on going to Mission Vet Emergency Hospital. Since you're not able to go inside with your animal due to covid, this place isn't the best on communication. If you have to take your pet here, MAKE... read more

AVOID!! The clinic is disorganized and poorly managed with terrible communication and even worse customer service skills. We brought our dog in for an emergency visit. The clinic refuses to allow patients inside. They came to my car without a leash to get our dog so they took her in on our leash. They evaluated and said it would be 1-2 hours for her needed procedure. After 2.5 hours from their last communication, I called for a status update and they informed me they hadn't started and likely wouldn't be several more hours b... read more

Unless your dog has a leg falling off, still don't bring them here. When you arrive and the person greeting you gathers the info, might as well tell them nothing because the dr called and did not look at it or read any of the info. I said "do bloodwork" and they call & say everything looks fine. I asked "well, how did the blood work turn out". "Oh you want us to run bloodwork"? Wth. So then I realize that they most certainly did not read that I said my dog is a rescue & has severe anxiety. Please give her something to calm h... read more

Tl;dr: in a pinch this hospital has what you need to help your animal, but you can expect similar treatment as Blue Pearl, where I believe some of their staff came from. The facility has the equipment and the expertise, but usually not the motivation to help. They likely default to the more costly and time intensive option and are happy to charge a bit more to do so. This will be our third visit to Mission Veterinary Emergency. I fully anticipate that we will not find out what is wrong with my cat. On the first visit, despi... read more

This place is all about taking my money and not saving my dog's life. They were more concerned about my dog's dental hygiene than what was actually wrong with my dog. They wanted a $700 to do things that weren't needed. There are better emergency vets in the KC metro area, choose those.

My dog Reba at 10 months was seen by Dr. Allen in August of last year to evaluate her crooked front paw. This was most likely the result of an injury which affected the growth plate in her wrist. After a very quick phone call from Dr. Allen, I was assured he could straighten out her foot by cutting a portion of her ulna out. I was not shown x-rays and the phone call lasted only a few minutes. I agreed to the surgery to try to be the best dog mom I could. The cost for this including x-rays was over $4000. As a mother of 5 sma... read more

I had took my mini dachshund to this emergency center as I was referred to from a veterinarian I had contacted as I had just moved to Kansas City and was unfamiliar with specialists. Taking my animal here was a terrible experience. I had asked in the very beginning how long the appointment would take and they said they were unsure. If I had known it was going to take THREE AND 1/2 HOURS for my dog to be seen I would have not waiting in the parking lot since we were not able to go inside. If i had known it was going to take m... read more
