I highly recommend VCA to pet owners! Recently I had to put my cat to sleep in the middle of the night. I was distraught and the staff really calmed my nerves and help me to find peace in the passing. They were very kind and compassionate and I'm so grateful they were there to help me. They are all saints in my book to do what they do for humans and animals at all hours of the night. The night receptionist, Karen, is a gem of a human being.

You know, these people have a super tough job. They get the emergency animals that other vet clinics can't handle. Our dog was really really sick a few weeks ago (pancreatitus) and he spent four nights at Mission Med Vet. He came home and was not out of the woods and the staff never sounded annoyed by my frequent phone calls detailing ever move he made. Kipper has made a great recovery and after a careful change in diet, we are hoping he will be with us for many more years. Dr Grigsby is one of the most professional and... read more

I've been taking my pets here ever since they were in their previous location at the corner of Johnson and Nall...about 20 years now. I can't say my experiences were necessarily good, but the circumstances that bring you here aren't very good. But my treatment and the treatment of my pets is always great. I had a dog who spent quite a bit of time here off and on and it cost me about as much as it would to buy a new car. So, no, it's not cheap. Not in the slightest. Prepare to pay big bucks if you have to bring your pet... read more

Let me first say that I have six dogs and I have been through many vets over the last twenty years. I used to live in CA., then relocated here. Next, my husband is a surgeon and has a SERIOUS tendency to be wary of most regular vets. (He has felt that many of them have always tried to sell unnecessary products and procedures just to pad the final bill). Because he has a very deliberate and cautious approach to his own practice, he isn't fond of vets who just start ordering up tests without care and thought. I breed and ... read more

My Golden Retrieve recently had TPLO surgery here. They did a fantastic job and she seems to be recovering great! I loved how comfortable they made me feel and literally told me to call anytime 24 hours. Every time I called the receptionist/nurses were so helpful and knew exactly what I was needing. The only thing is that it is a little far from my home and also when my dog got her staples out, they actually forgot to take one out. Luckily I noticed it right when we go home and took her to a local Vet. It was just an extra... read more

I took my puppy there for the first time yesterday. They were very friendly and professional. She seems much better today. The services are great but not inexpensive. If she gets better it's worth every cent (lots of them :) I spent yesterday. I hope I do not have to take her back again any time soon. But they will be my first choice if I do.

My most recent visit was with our current dog, when she suddenly started to have what seemed to be like a human asthma attack. We 'rushed' (via the speed limit) down Johnson Drive to Mission Med Vet and were quickly buzzed in and assisted. All of the staff was very caring, and the vet explained her 'condition' in very simple terms, yet offered to do more tests if we requested. She was fine; reverse sneezing is apparently common for dogs, especially scent hounds like our own. I'd never heard of such a thing! And it only co... read more

Terrible experience. Our dog was bitten by another dog. Long wait, place did not seem busy. The vet started an IV then said my dog needed exploratory surgery for $5000 to see if any internal organs had been affected. I asked if the could do a sonogram instead, which seemed to make her mad. I declined the $5000 surgery and they became extremely rude, literally just handed me my dog. I was first struggling to pay the $200 bill and open the door to leave with my dog in my arms, when I noticed that they had left the IV in.... read more

The vet we saw was very standoffish; she acted mad that I was there. Waiting for her to chart and checkout took longer than an hour. I will avoid coming back here at all costs.

Business response:

We apologize for falling short during your visit.
