I've been taking my pets here ever since they were in their previous location at the corner of Johnson and Nall...about 20 years now. I can't say my experiences were necessarily good, but the circumstances that bring you here aren't very good. But my treatment and the treatment of my pets is always great. Let me first say that I have six dogs and I have been through many vets over the last twenty years. I used to live in CA., then relocated here. Next, my husband is a surgeon and has a SERIOUS tendency to be wary of most regular vets. (He has felt that many of them have always tried to sell unnecessary products and procedures just to pad the final bill). My Golden Retrieve recently had TPLO surgery here. They did a fantastic job and she seems to be recovering great! I loved how comfortable they made me feel and literally told me to call anytime 24 hours. Every time I called the receptionist/nurses were so helpful and knew exactly what I was needing. The only thing is that it is a little far from my home and also when my dog got her staples out, they actually forgot to take one out. I took my puppy there for the first time yesterday. They were very friendly and professional. She seems much better today. The services are great but not inexpensive. If she gets better it's worth every cent (lots of them :) I spent yesterday. I hope I do not have to take her back again any time soon. But they will be my first choice if I do.

My most recent visit was with our current dog, when she suddenly started to have what seemed to be like a human asthma attack. We 'rushed' (via the speed limit) down Johnson Drive to Mission Med Vet and were quickly buzzed in and assisted. All of the staff was very caring, and the vet explained her 'condition' in very simple terms, yet offered to do more tests if we requested. The vet we saw was very standoffish; she acted mad that I was there. Waiting for her to chart and checkout took longer than an hour. I will avoid coming back here at all costs.

This is not a good place to take your pet. The vets seem to take advantage of vulnerable families. They will guilt you into paying tens of thousands of dollars for non sense. Making you believe your pet will die instantly if you don't pay these outrageous bills. Do yourself a favor and find a better place!

This is not a great review. as for someone who was vouched to come to this place. DO not come to this place. this place is awfully expensive and heres why. i was greeted okay, but that became worse. i brought my cat named OSA and when the doctor claimed she was very very sick. i was surprised and was sad and then she said it would be 3000!!!!??!? noway dude.. for hospitality like i could pay for bills and needs. are you serious?? when i left without medical advice keep in mind 180 fee for a walk in. when we came home she sta... read more

If you're curious why Mission is charging you three times as much as they used to, it's because they were recently bought by private equity firm JAB Holdings. I used to leave here feeling like I'd been treated fairly, now it's all about how much they can squeeze out of me. There are plenty of independent vets in the area who won't overcharge and guilt you into unnecessary tests/treatments.
