Love my gym! Love the staff, love the environment. The manager does a great job. Had a great cycling class tonight & then a steam. Just what I needed to end a tough day at work.
If I could give this location NEGATIVE stars I would because of the treatment I've witnessed one of the group fitness instructors give a member (and management's inability to address it in an appropriate fashion). Tonia (teaches hip hop on Mondays and zumba on Thursdays) is the most unprofessional, rude, and just downright mean person I have had the displeasure of seeing in a long time. Here's the deal, I really, really didn't want to write this review for a number of reasons, I enjoyed the first 2 years I went to Mountainside, I appreciated what the owner did during Covid to get the gym open again too. Sure, there were some irritations, but nothing horrible. Over the course of the last year and a half I was there I started noticing a couple things that I didn't like. I am very happy with my choice of fitness centers. I have tried a few different ones in the East valley. the queen creek mountainside fitness center location seems to care about the upkeep of the facility and helping out the customers. keep up the good work. they are very friendly employees and management.
When I signed up for a personal trainer I was under the impression I was purchasing so many sessions, come to find out they signed me up for a monthly subscription when I never said I wanted. When I canceled they kept charging my CC. I left multipe messages for Gilbert to call me to discuss and he never called back. So I had to dispute 7 charged for $155, which all got returned in my favor. Today I checked my statement and they are charging me once again, and double charged my CC for $310 in May. Just tried weighing myself using their Inbody scale. Unfortunately it's locked and there's no trainers today on a Saturday. Really frustrating that I cannot weigh myself without making an appointment with a trainer. I have called local gyms in the area and they all have this scale available for use without having to make an appointment. I will probably be switching gyms.
I've been to a lot of gyms around the country and this is one of the best. Although busy sometimes, the cleanliness, equipment condition, and amenities are top tier. Costs a little more than most gyms but worth every penny.
It's already really hot in this location and it's not even hot outside yet! I asked for a fan in the Peak Performance area last year and they said no, which is absolutely ridiculous! Everyone in the class complains how hot it is, it's not just me. If they don't do something I'm going to change gyms.
since I've gone back this gym has been such a great motivation for me and my friends! even got my friends to sign up too and they go to other locations because of how awesome they are! love you guys! the staff is amazing too! always smiling always helping!
