UPDATE: I received a garbage response from someone named Grace who told me to "look on their website". There is no mention on their site of allowances made to freeze or cancel due to COVID, as she alludes. No way to contact her directly to clear it up. No one from corporate has responded - still- to the live message I left with their accounting dept. and now, with a Governer's orders to close, they are issuing PR stunt press releases claiming they will sue to stay open, and are refusing to follow the mandate. Clearly ZERO co... read more

Business response:

Hi Anne, Looks like there was some miscommunication. Members were offered a free 30-day freeze for the month of June if they did not feel ready to come back into the gym. We also offer up to 3-month freezes for anyone who still wants to freeze after June. You do not have to come in to freeze or cancel. We offer multiple options on our website FAQ.

Only reason for one star review is because we are experiencing and alarming spike in COVID and they don't open the door to let fresh air in anymore. So basically it's just recycled air in there. They do a good job of keeping it clean but what's the point if we are packed in like sardines? I heard they closed the door to save money on electricity. It's too bad the priorities are wrong and they can't come up with a better solution. What happens when one person is asymptomatic and spread the virus to everyone? I just think gett... read more

Business response:

Hi Susan - I can assure you that our clubs do not keep doors closed to 'save money on electricity'. With temperatures reaching over 110, our managers opt to have the door closed to keep members cool during their workout. Thank you for your feedback. I will be forwarding this to the club manager.

I cancelled my membership in October because I was traveling a ton for work and couldn't make their hours when I was in town. They somehow didn't put my cancellation through their system and continued charging me for month. I went in several times and waited 45 mins to an hour each time only to be completely ignored. I would call only to be told a sales rep wasn't available and they would call me back which never happened. Now fast forward to 7 months later they're still calling to charge me after I disputed all the charges ... read more

Business response:

Customer Service HORRIBLE-After putting my membership on freeze for three months due to COVID-19 (remind you I had to go in on March 16. 2020)Mountainside decided to take it upon themselves to charge my card when the gym reopened. They said they put all accounts on hold from March 19-June 1, 2020. Even though that is not what I agreed on when I signed. Called to talk to a manger and he was very arrogant and said there was noting he could do. Went in to cancel my membership completely and they are NOT willing to work with you... read more

This gym is pretty legit, they have newish equipment, a variety of cardio, some of those dinosaur egg balls u can throw around, a smoothie bar that u can charge to yer account, and a lot of good stuff. I wish it had basketball or racquetball at this location tho. It also has steam room and a sauna. Its opening tomorrow after being closed for a couple months and I'm excited often to get back in there. I thinks it's def worth checking out if you are a regular gym goer

Business response:

Peter - Thank you for leaving us a review. We are happy to be back and serving our members.

Had been a member here for over 5 years.. called to put my membership on hold due to the Coronavirus and they told me I had to physically come in.. I'm very aware this is their "policy" but with everything going on you'd think they would gladly take a paying freeze hold over a member leaving. Anyways, I was so pissed I had to physically go in that I went the next day and cancelled it. I will join Lifetime when this virus stuff blows over (they gladly freeze your account over the phone) big mistake on Mountainside's part. Hi ... read more

Because of what is going on with COVID-19, I wanted to put a hold on my gym membership and kids care. I called to get that done, but the person on the other line would not let me talk to member services, and proceeds to tell me that it's "policy" for me to physically come into the gym to put a hold on my membership. The whole point of me doing this is in the first place is because I shouldn't be going to the gym at this time, but they are making me come in? Ridiculous. Was planning only to put a hold on my account but now co... read more

I end up going to this location because their child care here is probably the best. My son loves their bouncy house and basketball court for kids. Other reasons why this is a great location, the towels are old school and not those microfiber towels, Stacy's classes weekdays, sauna, steam room and you will find the GM Zenas wiping down equipment (setting a great example) and overall setting a really great environment for members. The staff is always kind and nice, won't go anywhere else for the value you get at this gym.

Business response:

Thank you for leaving us a 5-star review, Abrar!
