Overall I've been happy with this location. The crew are all nice, I love the provided towels and it's not crazy busy. However, the showers are DISGUSTING. Covered in mold and look like they get wiped down once a month. They are constantly out of soap, and front desk response is always "we'll replace them when we get more." Start ordering more! Who wants to get all hot and sweaty and then not have soap to rinse off? Some of them are missing the safety rails, some don't even turn off all the way, and they are nasty. Put some... read more

I've been coming here for years and love it, but lately the small workout towel baskets are always empty. It's a nice amenity so most count on them being available and if you don't bring your own and need one, it no good!

I dont know what it is but the majority of the times i come here, they dont have little towels ready to use before u began your workout. I happen to walk in today at 6:30pm and sure enough no towels, I dont even see the front desk folding anything. Its so annoying. I think im going to have to start bringing my own. Whats the purpose of paying a gym membership if theres hardly any or noo towels at all! I just saw two male workers and none have notice the problem. Maybe they dont like doing the laundry. I had been a member at MSF and just cancelled my membership after 6 YEARS !! I had been to 5 different locations and Ocotillo is by far the worst location. The machines are so crammed together, all the other locations have WAY newer equipment and what they do have does not function correctly. I told a staff member that my elliptical was clicking and the weights on the leg press I was using were tipping from side to side and he basically just brushed me off and said "ya we have old equipment" ?!? Joined here a few months ago and thought it was going to be a lot better. This is a small gym, most of the staff are nice and nice equipment, but I wish the machines were spread out just a little more and there were more free weights and benches. The whole workout area is too packed together. The free weight area is so crunched and usually not enough benches to use. The gym has invested more money into getting a few more Rogue Barbells. Definitely a great sign. It seems like it's getting a bit more crowded, but not a big deal. Great job, keep up the good work!
I've been a member at this location for more than 10 years and although I'm not ripped and athletic at this juncture, that is not a reflection of the gym. At all. There is something for everyone here. Weight machines. Lots of free weights and benches. Cardio machines. Saunas and well appointed locker rooms. Classes led by coaches who have been around for many years. They have an active basketball court that sometimes doubles as a circuit training area for boot camp "trainees". Typical gym issues - poorly maintained cardio equipment. Literally day to day on which machines work - including individual TVs that seem to get certain channels or not with no way to predict what works. I go there Daily and have literally gone from one machine to another multiple times to find one where everything works. This happens at least a couple times a week. I've never taken any classes here but I have been quite a few times for cardio & weights... The machines could use some updating - some are outdated and squeaky at times. However, they do have a couple of machines that other locations do not have so that's nice. I do like the setup, though. This isn't my "home location" but if I lived nearby and this had to be my primary gym, I'd probably choose to go to another newer gym chain not too far up the road.. especially with the price difference.
