I try to write a review only if I'm extremely satisfied or dissatisfied, so I can alert others. Unfortunately, my experience with mountainside fitness has been a sour one. They (Chandler/Ocotillo site) definitely have a shitty customer service, especially when it comes to refunds. This is probably my worst customer service experience anywhere in the world in a very long time. Jug, We understand your frustration. To note, your card was charged for first and last month's dues as that is collected at the time of registration. We do have a 30 day money back guarantee which is only valid if you are cancelling within 30 days of signing up. In order to qualify for a refund within the 30 days, our staff was correct that we have a policy that members needs to check in 7 times and attend the fitness consultation. Been at this location for a week now and loving it! We've taken advantage of the free weights, machines and kids club so far. We initially got a 5 day free pass to try it out and talked with the membership expert at the end of our first workout. They have a promo for no initiation and 2 free months, of course we were going to jump on board! A couples membership with 2 kids month to month is about $100. Club is clean and bathrooms are nice. This is a tremendous gym, with absolutely everything you need. Not to mention the incredible staff they have here. The front desk employees are constantly on top of their job and I never have to worry about the facility not having enough towels. With that being said, the towels are always so bright and white with a fresh scent to them. This mountainside location is TERRIBLE! Stay far, far away. The Assistant GM Derek must be a relative or know someone in that gym to even have that as his title. I made a complaint about Morgan in childcare (who is also terrible) and Derek told me he couldn't relate since he was not a Mother and didn't have kids. I asked Morgan in childcare to not allow my toddler with autism to play Minecraft as it is not age appropriate for him and the last time he played minecraft in the childcare, he came out talking inappropriately. Mountainside has several locations, I have been to a couple of them and I can say that this is the best one. The staff over there is really friendly, they go literally above and beyond. The management is very attentive to all of their customers. The gym itself is always very clean and the equipment is well maintained. Caitlyn the GM is exceptional. Overall I've been happy with this location. The crew are all nice, I love the provided towels and it's not crazy busy. However, the showers are DISGUSTING. Covered in mold and look like they get wiped down once a month. They are constantly out of soap, and front desk response is always "we'll replace them when we get more." Start ordering more! Who wants to get all hot and sweaty and then not have soap to rinse off? Some of them are missing the safety rails, some don't even turn off all the way, and they are nasty. Put some... read more

I've been coming here for years and love it, but lately the small workout towel baskets are always empty. It's a nice amenity so most count on them being available and if you don't bring your own and need one, it no good!

I dont know what it is but the majority of the times i come here, they dont have little towels ready to use before u began your workout. I happen to walk in today at 6:30pm and sure enough no towels, I dont even see the front desk folding anything. Its so annoying. I think im going to have to start bringing my own. Whats the purpose of paying a gym membership if theres hardly any or noo towels at all! I just saw two male workers and none have notice the problem. Maybe they dont like doing the laundry. I had been a member at MSF and just cancelled my membership after 6 YEARS !! I had been to 5 different locations and Ocotillo is by far the worst location. The machines are so crammed together, all the other locations have WAY newer equipment and what they do have does not function correctly. I told a staff member that my elliptical was clicking and the weights on the leg press I was using were tipping from side to side and he basically just brushed me off and said "ya we have old equipment" ?!?
