Probably one of the worst gyms I've been with in awhile. The child care now ask the guests to sign their kids in on an iPad which isn't a big deal until it asks question after question and the staff ends up helping everyone anyway. The basketballs for their half court are shit. I mean spend a couple hundred and get new balls. Came here for a 5 day trial as this gym is less than a mile from my house, but overall I didn't feel the value was there. I'd heard that Mountainside was a pretty good gym, and they have a couple heavy bags and speed bags that I was interested in using, in addition to the usual weights and machines. I found the machines to be pretty old and worn, and the free weight area was relatively small. Mountainside is the BEST gym I have ever been a member of! Granted, you can probably find a cheaper option month-to-month at another gym, but I believe you're getting what you pay for and then some here. I have attended The Chandler location most, but have had the same pleasant experience in Ahwatukee and Gilbert. My favorite part is the amazing childcare. I give this rating only for Membership Fees. I have been a faithful member for 12 years. This year upon renewal, I went in to discuss matching fees from other gyms. I was instantly told there would be no matching of competitors. At which point I stated that I could join 3 to 4 other gyms for the current Mountainside monthly fee. Still no compensation. I have been paying for a membership since about September of last year. I did everything for my membership over the phone. My payment was collected and the lady who signed my up said that I would get a discounted rate because they were running a free childcare special through the end of the year. I drove all the way there tonight, and they were completely closed at 8:05, no lights on or anything. It's supposed to close at 9, which is already ridiculous compared to most commercial gyms. Pretty angry.

Mountainside is a great gym. They have a ton of workout equipment for weights and cardio. They also have a bar for protein drinks, smoothies, etc. You can also workout while your child is in their day care center. Locker are clean and staff is friendly.

Thank you so much for welcoming my daughter into the gym while she was staying with me. She had to evacuate her home in California due to the fires and Luke and the staff were so kind to give her a pass to the gym and free child care for my two grandchildren.
