I would not recommend Navien, Inc, they will not support their customer & stand behind the product when you need help. Jeremy, a manager at Navien, says that it is company policy to only help licensed contractors although he admits they have no verification for contractors, they just take their word that they have a license. I have a more vested interest in protecting my home from damage than a contractor.
JUNK! When your tankless water heater breaks and is under warranty they will only send the part to a licensed plumber so you are then stuck paying the high dollar labor costs to have it replaced. Cheaper to buy the part yourself and replace. Customer service never answers the telephone so you get stuck chatting, sure that is related to everyone calling in to get faulty parts replaced. Too many other options for tankless water heater, I will never buy Navien!
My navien hot water heater breaks down at least once a year. I would not recommend this product until all the issues are worked out. Plus customer service has not been helpful. I only wish I read all the reviews below. Terrible product!

Disappointed in this product and service. NPE-240A purchased and installed July 2020. Already has problems. Navien service had my plumber on hold for 90 minutes for service (today 3/16/2022) before we had to cancel b/c of the on-hold time. The phone staffing is a major issue.

I am writing this review to let the public know why they should not buy a Navien tank-less water heater. After recently having a NPE 240a2 installed, the system started shutting off on me which meant no hot water. I called Navien and they informed that they could not offer any technical support since I was not an authorized repair technician. I had a unit installed by the largest HVAC Service company in Buffalo, NY. This boiler system has left my family without heat and hot water LITERALLY once each year. Abysmal quality.

Think twice about buying one of these. I had 2 water tanks for 20 years. Never had a problem. Bought a Navien tankless in 2019. It has to be descaled once a year at a cost of $300. The circulating pump failed in February 2022. Parts are guaranteed for 5-15 years but plumbing company labor isn’t. Labor cost to replace the pump was $345. On top of that we didn’t have hot water for 2 days. Had to take cold showers, first time in my life, in February. Keep your good ol’ tanks and replace them with new tanks not this junk.
