Think twice about buying one of these. I had 2 water tanks for 20 years. Never had a problem. Bought a Navien tankless in 2019. It has to be descaled once a year at a cost of $300. The circulating pump failed in February 2022. Parts are guaranteed for 5-15 years but plumbing company labor isn’t. Labor cost to replace the pump was $345. Bought a NPE-240A2 with a NaviCirc. The directions between the two devices conflict on proper piping and installation. Up to this point Navien refused to help. For the lack of help with one small issue you turned a repeat and happy customer into a dis-satisfied one.
Buyer beware! We need annual maintenance on our tankless hot water heater but there is no one in our area that is certified! Wish I had read these reviews before having it installed in my new home. I would have chosen another brand! Shame on me!!!

Garbage system! Stay away! Navien recommends what to fix when they do their diagnosis with my tech working on it, but issues never get resolved! Always error codes out year after year! We've replaced a pressure switch hose, 3-way valve, heat exchanger, water supply sensor, and now a circulator, all in less than 2 years. System is not that old and is maintained.
do NOT have one of these installed in your home! They are junk and Navien will NOT stand behind them. They do everything they can to void any bogus Warranty they claim! I promise YOU---after hours and hours of trying to get help--they hope you go away!! I've never had a worse PRODUCT installed in my home and NEVER had worse customer service after the install. RUN--do NOT purchase these UNITS!!
Absolute horrible service. I've been without heat for over 2 weeks in Northern Minnesota because Navien's brand new boiler doesn't work and they don't care enough to have a technician help their certified installer get it working. It gets to -70 degrees here with windchill and I have my three small children living without heat. Completely ridiculous and unacceptable. Navien needs to make this right. I'll agree - this thing is really a piece of crap. Broken after 1 month, tried to blame it on install, parts sent to me twice now. Still no working water heater. The "Navien certified" repair has been on hold for a total of 2.5 hours now - of which I have to pay for. I wish I hadn't trusted my installer to buy the "best one". I should have read the other reviews first. Same issues as others are having error code 003. The only thing left to replace is the circuit board. My unit failed on OCTOBER 13 and again on MOV 28th with a few weeks of installation, NAVIEN HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE , they have no technicians who can come and diagnose they ask you to call your own plumber and have him call them and then they PUT YOU ON HOLD FOR OVER AN HOUR and then agent never comes back, I have two kids in this house 5 and below , and in this cold they have NO heat or water
