I have filed a complaint with the state attorney general's office asking for a criminal investigation for multiple unauthorized debits from our bank account. This company has been one of the worst companies of any kind I have ever dealt with. They ought to be closed down.

Besides their customer service representatives being patient and respectful through our absolute mess, i'd give them 0 stars. After finding out that a different company had payments being applied to our business account with the IRS, i came to find out that Paychex had mistyped 1 number in their clients EIN and was incorrectly applying payments to the IRS. The company we've dealt with for payroll services has been the most challenging to work with. We're planning to switch as soon as we can, despite being with Paychex for less than 6 months. Our primary issue revolves around difficulties in reaching our assigned specialist. Each time we call, we end up leaving a voicemail, and unfortunately, they don't respond promptly. Moreover, there's a sense of rudeness, as if I should already know the answers to my questions, making the overall experience less than satisfactory.

Stay far away from this company. They overcharge, Underpromise and when you cancel they continue to take money and you have to fight to get only half back. Please read the reviews here and take extreme caution.

If I could give a negative review of Paychex I would. They have been deducting pension payments from our employees' paycheck every week, but did not pay the government the correct amounts. They are now deducting large amounts from our bank account to fix this, with no explanation as to where is amount is coming from and no breakdown or details of the amount. They take 3-4 weeks to come up with a response to any question you have even though they say they will get back to you in 10 business days. Their responses are horrible ... read more

STAY AWAY! Too many mistakes over and over again, and we are only a four-person team! We have two people with the same first name, and Paychex continuously pays the wrong person. When you give them instructions at the end of the year, say for bonuses... EVERY year, there is a mistake. It BLOWS my mind that they can be so sloppy with someone else's paycheck.

Worse company, fradulant charges, terrible customer service managers, unresolved disputes, holding taxes, unapproved 401k for per diem employees, no contact with so call account manager, never answered phone, constant change in account managers, closed account and company is still trying to debit fees out of my checking account. Won’t release account information. Totally unacceptable service and fees. Long hr wait to speak with representatives, always transfers to other departments and manages who are never in. I will add to all the negative reviews on Paychex. We had 6 account managers in one year and in 2016. They collected my third quarter Federal taxes from our bank account, but never sent them on to the IRS or filed the appropriate paperwork. We had no idea that occurred as that was what they were paid to do, based on our agreement. In 2022 we get a demand letter from the IRS stating we owed $55,000 for the 3rd quarter of 2016, plus interest and penalties.
