There needs to be better internal communications within Pennymac. I was asked multiple times for the same things by different people after having satisfied the requests. It took 5 months to close which is too long, and it was the same issues that slowed the process down. It was a very unpleasant experience. Erica was good but even still the process was peppered with missteps and it made me seriously question the benefit of staying with Pennymac.
My experience I noted was just okay because, my refi with my current lender should have been in the 2 week range and I could even see a maximum of 4 weeks. It was over 5 weeks. I feel I could have received a progress update once a week but updates were requested by me before I received anything. Would I do it again if I ever needed with Penny Mac specifically, Yes. All in all Penny Mac is a great business to work with.
COVID 19 impacted everyone. This refinance could have been better and smoother in my opinion under normal circumstances. I thank the M.A.C Team (Tiffany) for working with me.
