Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. 5.0 out of 5 stars Whew! All I needed was this! I thought my pool sweep had broke. My pool guy said to buy this. So glad I did! The backup valve just kept spraying water, he said it was broken. Easy fix. It does not come with instructions, so I had to Google it. But basically you just unscrew the part of the hose that’s on the current hose and place this one in the same place. Fit perfect. Turned it on right away to test it and the pool sweep was running and the tail hose of the sweep were all back to working. Yeah!
