Don’t go cheap, buy the original Zodiac! I just replaced a cheaper off brand valve with the Zodiac. It does not pull as hard as the off brand. THIS IS A GOOD THING! The off brand valve pulled so hard that it would tangle the tubing. I am watching the Zodiac valve perform right now and it gently pulls the Polaris back and does not tangle. It is working perfectly! I’ve only had this valve for about a week and I’m hoping It will last a long time.

Failed in Three Months BUT Received Replacement Simple review — it failed in three months, maybe sooner. The Polaris has not been running right for at least a month, but I tested it today, three months after installation.Update: I called the supplier on Friday and received excellent service from a polite assistant. She walked me through the routine procedure and, subsequently, mailed a replacement on Monday. I received it the next day, installed it, and it works perfectly.

Exactly what I needed The installation was simple and I am not good at this stuff. The pool "service" would have charged me five times the cost of ordering and installing it myself . It took less than a few minutes - very happy. Also it fixed the problem .

Works as advertised. Works as advertised. It is still important to add a float in front and behind the backup valve to prevent the Polaris from getting stuck in the corner of the steps or the raised drains in the bottom of the pool. The floats give added boyancy when the back up valve activates.

Replacement valve for pool vacuum The G52 valve works as expected. The packaging was not ideal protection for the device. You're better off going to the local pool store and pick one up.

Big Surpise! Not really needed for my pool Having a pool for 15 years I have had to replace a lot of these because they are not built to last per the insights in other reviews. Instead of replacing the last time it broke I removed and replaced with a $5 swivel. I suggest you try this first. Ends up my Polaris 380 works better because the water flow is not impeded by the valve and, the Polaris 380 actually moves more freely without the weight of the backup valve in the line. Output nozzle on my Polaris is at about 5:00 put yo... read more

It appears to be identical to the original unit This product is used to relocate the vacuum head when it corners itself or remains in a small area of the pool. This unit, unlike the one it replaced does not move the vacuum more than two feet during its relocate cycle, which allows the vacuum to return directly to its trapped position.

Short life span of internals Life of the internal gear drive sucks, lucky to get one season out of units. Also they don’t seem to have to power to pull Polaris out of corners like they use 2!What other choices are there?Polaris brand is supposed to be the best!
