I am not really impressed with this sweep. I replaced a Hayward vac sweep. This one does not sink to the bottom unless you pull off the tail float, but once the tail float is removed, it will fall on its side and not function properly. In the shallow end of the pool, it works great. Its when it gets to the deep end, 5ft 5 inches, that the back end floats and it does not get a vacuum to work in that area.

The 280 moves well, and fast, across the bottom of the pool. It may be a little small for the size of our pool, which is 20 x 40, but it appears that this only means the unit will have to work some extra days to clean up everything. It has a large leaf bag which I emptied yesterday and it was packed! So I know it is picking up leaves from the bottom of the pool. So far, so good. . . .
