Everything is really good EXCEPT the owner's manual directions are off. It says screw on the hose connector to the sweeper itself in counter-clockwise direction, and that is wrong. Also it doesn't tell you to take OFF any floats when cutting the feeder hose. I don't think it needs all of those floats.

This is the second Vac-Sweep 280 I have had for my pool. The first lasted 24 years with a few rebuilds of major components, but finally it had seen its better days. I looked at the new robotic cleaners but had a pump that still worked fine and the 280 had historically done fine at cleaning our 30,000 gallon pool. So, a new Vac-Sweep 280 was purchased. It was easy to set up and works like a charm. And, I saved about $1K over the newer robotic models. More money for fishing rod and reels!!!

I had an old Polaris pool sweep, and it was on its last "wheels" so to speak. This new one runs better and smoother than the old one. We'll have to wait a season or two before the final verdict is in on the quality and durability of the new sweep.

The 280 is great. I had a newer model. It would stay stuck until I moved it. It would stop moving every few minutes and just sit there, and the tail wouldn't sweep, just stayed straight. The 280 gets stuck, but gets moving again very quickly. It covers the whole pool in good time and the tail sweeps!! Win win!
