Constant label jam. Constant label jam. Decided to toss it away rather than waste labels on it.

Why can I not go to Zero? Previously: Downgraded my review to one-star I am downgrading my review of this printer to one star (from 2). On top of the problems of it using way more tape than is necessary, requiring me to buy an external power supply and terrible interface; my first cartridge somehow got screwed up and no longer works. So, I've lost at least half of the value of this $9-10/cartridge due to a defect. Brother -- get your act together. Why can I not downgrade this to zero. After buying another $10 cartridge, the ... read more

BATTERY DEAD but still can type??? Hate this thing. Used it once total. I made close to 15 labels within the first few days of making it. Lost it for awhile because we were moving a lot of furniture around. Found it last week and was excited beyond words. So I went out -- bought a new roll of tape even some brand new nice batteries. Couldn't wait to stay labeling things all over agan. NOPE ... thing will turn on , let me type and everything BUT when I ask it to print it says BATTERY DEAD. If the batteries were did won't the ... read more

Good for printing, even better at annoying This functions well enough, but has a LOT of annoyances. Gripe #1 is that EVERY time I pull it out, the batteries are dead. There must be some sort of leakage in the circuits but my only solution was to remove the batteries after use. i finally bought the AC adapter and just don't mess with the batteries any more. Second huge annoyance is that the default setting prints very wide margins on everything. So you wast a TON of tape. Obviously, that is where they make their money, so all... read more

Highly Flawed and Overly Costly to Operate The biggest issue is battery usage. Every other time we go to use this device, the batteries are dead. That means six AAA batteries, six or so times a year. The cartridges are pricey and in my opinion, the default settings are designed to use those cartridges as fast as possible. There are setting for shorter labels, but these devices are designed to pump through label tape, because that is where the profit is. The labels are ridiculously hard to remove the backing from. I have spen... read more

"Battery Dead" Error Prevents Labels From Printing I get the ""Battery Dead!" message both with a fresh set of batteries or when plugged into an AC outlet (I paid extra for an AC adaptor). The unit will not print out any labels. I would not recommend buying this brand we will be buying a replacement from another company.

Wastes Tape and Drains Batteries. This is a very wasteful unit, even controlling margins you end up wasting a lot of tape. Another issue is the very bad battery drain, if you don't take out at least one battery you end up having to replace them after only a few days.
