Brother products have been changing the way people work, and play, for years. Our reliable, high-quality, feature-rich printers, scanners, labelers, and more are hard at work in homes everywhere. Whatever your need, Brother products are always "At your side."
Good luck if you buy, but forearmed is forewarned ...! Brother products have let me down AGAIN & AGAIN. Not sure I will ever buy another Brother product again. Soooo, disappointed first with 2 different type-writers and now with this labeler or NON laleler. On top of which there isn't just bad service but NO service.
Sucks down batteries. Buy the cord. Definitely buy the power cord with it. It sucks down batteries ridiculously fast. 6 AAA batteries lasted for less than 24 hrs and I only printed 4 things. Decently little printer for the price. Wish there was a way to cut down the extra area around the print area. Quite a waste of ribbon.
P-Touch review Limited capabilities
Wastes too much tape. This would be a good product if you didn't waste so much tape at the front of the tape. You have to use scissors to cut the excess which makes it cumbersome to use.
A maliciously designed product that intentionally wastes Brother tapes Flaws: 1) Spits about the same length of empty space (cannot be used) as much as printed space 2) Will not print longer than the line limit (if let's say you want to type ABCDEFGHIJKL, it will say it cannot do it) 3) Each time it prints, I have to bring a pair of scissors to make it the size I want it to be, which is a waste of time and tape.
Get an M-Touch printer instead to avoid tape wastage. This system uses the 'p-touch' tape, which basically means every time you print something you end up with about 1.5 inches of wasted tape on each end of the label. Most of my labels for Discs or Folders tend to be about 1 inch to 1.5 inches long themselves, thus I'm getting about 3:1 wastage. I had a M-Touch system before, which only wasted about 0.5 inches, but this is out of control.
The Worst Label Maker I Have Ever Owned I hate this thing. I have had several Brother label makers over the years. This one looks the cutest but fuctions terribly! Hugely wasteful with the tape (on purpose). Burns through an enormous quantity of batteries (6 AAA batteries need to be replaced for every 7 or 8 labels made - not kidding). Non-intuitive instructions. My household needs a label maker, and after struggling with this one for a couple of years now, I'm on the hunt from something new.
A big dissapointment for me I would have expected more from a name like Brother and the P-Touch has been a leader in personal labelers but I was really dissapointed in this product. To begin, the functions are a little tricky to use so it takes some getting used to. Also, the LCD display is difficult to see and the preview does not show the characters sharply. I would expect it would have something like a green or orange backlight to faciliate this. Furthermore, the most dissapointing is the cutting. You actually have to man... read more
