The product refill costs as much as the labeler itself The labeling tape lasted one evening. When I found out the refill is $20 in Walmart I mentioned how ripped off I felt to a friend. She threw hers in the garbage because the refill is so costly. I would not recommend this product. For me its more cost effective to print the label off my PC and tape it to whatever needs labeling with clear movers scotch tape. Clear carton scotch tape lasts forever and is a fraction of the price whether its generic or name brand.
Incredibly Flawed Design that Wastes Label Material I own another smaller Brother label maker and purchased this model as an upgrade. The quality of the printing is superior on Brother label makers, which was the motivation for purchasing another Brother model. Unfortunately this model has an extreme flaw in the design that causes a HUGE waste in label material. My guess is this was intentional. It's the razor and razor blade strategy. Two Stars Came DOA (no cutter) and after buying an Epson, I realize how cheaply made the Brother units are.
One Star Never worked right.
This prints labels nicely but is NOT intuitive to use This prints labels nicely but is NOT intuitive to use. I often have to reference the manual because it is not obvious how to change basic options. This product would be so much better if Brother Printer spent the time to invest in usability
Annoying! Bought this with additional tapes. Product comes with 12mm 0.47" laminated tape. We bought 12mm 1/2" tape as this was meant to be compatible which it is not. Annoying!
If you have awesome eyesight, then go for it Largest font size is too small. Vertically fills tape by less than 1/2. If you have awesome eyesight, then go for it.
The AcDc adapter is useless. Screen is hard to see. Even tilting doesn't help. Also the unit can't print without batteries. The AcDc adapter is useless.
