Complicated to use and battery hog I had a previous Brother label maker that was so simple to use. This one is very complicated and is difficult to get the right font and font size. Also it is a real battery hog. Every 6-10 times I use it, the batteries have to be replaced.

Wastes tons of the paper, which isn't cheap. ... Wastes tons of the paper, which isn't cheap. It'd be a lot cheaper just to put the label on a word document and tape it on.

it's probably the best value you'll find for this type of label maker This product is not nearly as satisfying as the smaller, green Brother PT-65 that it replaced. However, for the price, it's probably the best value you'll find for this type of label maker. Having owned this for more than a year, there are two aspects that I find frustrating: 1) The default settings waste the consumable label type like you wouldn't believe. You can mitigate this by minimizing the margin settings and chaining labels together - printing them... read more

Uses 6 (! ) AAA batteries, and does ... Uses 6 (!) AAA batteries, and does not shut itself off after siting idle. So every time I want to use it, I find the batteries are dead. And it is VERT complicated to use, compared to my other label maker. Not intuitive.

Big disappointment. Can't print arrows or bold vertical. Why buy such a limited machine. Also eats batteries faster than it prints. Big disappointment.

I'd actually like the thing Wasteful. I get it Brother, you make little on the labeler, and lots on the labels. It's the only explanation of why you would print out a 5" label when I am only printing 4 letters. If not for this fact, I'd actually like the thing, but it pisses me off too much to use it.

Wastes tape! Wow! This wastes a ton of tape, even when you adjust the settings so it's very small margins! Returned this and kept my Dymo labeler!

Power supply and batteries not included I've always been a big fan of Brother, but they really let me down on this one. Optional power supply and batteries not included? For as little as both of those things cost, and to find out that Brother wants $30 for a $2 9V 1A power supply, I can't help but feel they're taking customers for a ride. (edit) Wanted to add after using it for a few weeks: Get something else. The waste is ridiculous with this machine. My advice if you already have one is to print off multiple labels at the ... read more
